radiator fan query

Hi folks, I have had my 05 tourer 2.2 diesal for about 3 weeks now and have been getting to know my way round the engine for fluid top ups etc and noticed that the radiator fan keeps kicking in at regular intervals for short bursts. Is this normal ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. What I did notice is that if I turn the ventilation system 'off' the fans stop running.

John is your heater set to auto if so its the air con kicking in and out

Hi John,

I agree with Brett I have been getting to know my way around the air con system lately! And it sounds like the air on fan kicking in and out, should be for about 10 seconds on 10 seconds off cycles?
