Has anybody worked out a way of upgrading the rear speakers in the 8th gen? They seem to have been designed in such a way that replacing them is utterly impossible. I looked at the honda upgrade speakers but honda's web site says that these are for the front doors, not the rear parcel shelf. I must say, this is the first car I have bought where it is impossible to upgrade speakers.

I have no issue with removing the speakers, the workshop manual shows that you just lever up the grills carefully. The problem is that when you have removed the grill, the speaker is secured with one screw, the other side of the speaker clips into place. You can't buy aftermarket speakers with this fitting. Also, the hole where the speaker sits is very small, so an after market speaker with a decent sized magnet will not fit in. And yes, it is a saloon.
