Was travelling last night when i hit a pot hole (very common on Irish roads these days) suddenly my sat nav gives a error reading disc message. I wasn't using the sat nav at the time. Anyway same message this morning when i started i car. Could it be possible that the lense has been damaged that easily or is it possible to reset the system some way. Never had this issue before.

very strange iv nether heard of this before.have you tried cleaning the disk and dvd that may work

just spoke to an ex-honda guy who now has his own garage. He seems to think that the unit is blown and needs replacing. I'll go to the main dealer and see what they say. Is there any difference betwenn the voice activated sysetm and the non voice activated system ? I may have to start looking on ebay.

Yes there is mate the voice activated sat nav is in the facelift. What year is your car so we can make more sense of this fault. If the unit needs replacing you are talking big bucks.

it's a 2007 facelift voice activated. I have a feeling that the laser lense has been shunted off line of has been blow. Spoke to Andy at car audio technics who seems to specialise in repair of the lenses, so i'll try to get the DVD rom unit out and off to him for repair.
No way i'm paying huge £ to fit a new system.

I would definately go down the TomTom route, I have always been disapointed by the satnav in my accord.

On a kind of related note does anyone know what the version number is for the latest DVD for a 2007 accord?
