Spare remote key doesnt lock/unlock

Hi guys

My spare key looks like its never been used- couldnt find my normal one so tried to use it.

LED flashing when pushing the buttons- not working the remote locking. Unlocked car manually, key recognised in ignition and starts ok so clearly coded to vehicle.

Changed battery as last owner said he never used it, still not working the central locking!

Anyone heard of this before? Is there a cheap workaround or a dealer recode? Seems to be coded ok as engine recognises it

any advice appreciated

The remote function and immobiliser are 2 completely separate things hence why your car will start but you cant open the doors. You will need to recode the remote function to your car. This will either need to be done at a dealer or on some cars (Ford) you can do it by following a sequence with the key in the ignition. Hopefully this is the case with the Accord, If not it will be a trip to the stealer's or an auto locksmith with the correct hardware.
