I'm very sad to say my beautiful beast died this weekend, it seems the bottom end has gone at a mere 141'000 miles.

There are a lot of bits and pieces on this car in great condition, perhaps someone here needs them.
All panels are in good condition, the expected few chips etc from the road.

Left bumper some damage from previous owner catching a rock in a hedge.

Wiper blades less than a month old, one year old alternator, various other parts etc...

Any offers the car is not driving so collection would be a must but i can't bear the thought of it being crushed without the best bits being used by Honda lovers!

Cam you tell me what happened with your Honda???

So it had a functioning mobile phone connection, the bottom end went, it hasn't been fully investigated as my garage advised me it wasn't worth my money, he thought crank perhaps, so the engine is a goner. The only other issues I ever had were an intermittent air con and a jammed CD player

Bottom end, possibly crank, basically the engine is dead, but there are plenty of functioning parts

You got me worried now. I have simular Honda and it has 135000 miles gone. I'm hoping nothing like that would happen.

I asked and I was just told it was really bad luck, couldn't have been prevented but was also totally unprecedented at that age of car and mileage as well as full service history.
My brother in law has a Honda Accord W Reg thats done over 300'000.

I owned the car for two years, it had a full service history when I purchased it and it had just had its 100000 mile service.
It received a basic service oil/filter etc at 120,000 (approx) by a trusted mechanic friend, and another full service at 135,000 in December last year.

Wow sorry to hear that. What about any signs of that happening. Did you new at some point that something is wrong?

If I could ask you to describe it in details, maybe would be better for us to prepare our self. I have 133000 and planing to drive England to Poland Czech and then some and come back England. Now I think I'll do arround

It started on the motorway, just a clicking sound coming from the engine which worsened with more revs. It sounded louder as I pull d off the motorway and got it recovered. No change in the loud knocking sound by this point as I drove it to the garage to confirm my fear that it was the big end. He told me not to even waste my money investigating as it is f****d and to scrap it. Got it back to my street where the sound became a loud scraping noise, very metallic. Then it conked out. Now it smokes I you attempt to start it.
Oil and water all checked and that's fine, no mixing. No warning signs whatsoever, in fact it had been driving beautifully the day before

IMHO the service gaps are/were too great, at least for oil changes and that is all that a diesel needs really, my 7th did 200,000 miles and was still running like a swiss watch. I had to go auto due to "chemo" aftermath, or I would still be driving it. Oil change every 6,000 and filter every 12,000. 20,000 and then 15,000 much too much. Also remember to use fully synth 0-30 Too late for you and you have my sympathy, but others on here take note.

Well that's frustrating to read, you'd think Honda would have advised the previous owner, I did too it up regulatory just didn't do the services and change that frequently
