Hi there.I need help.I did replaced steering rack because of leaking in independence garage.since They done it my steering wheel is not straight.went back in for alignment twice didn't help, so I went to ATS Bought new tyres done alignment again but same thing steering is not straight.anyone's know what problem is.Thank you

Firstly is there any excess play in the steering, I know you have had a new steering rack fitted, but if there is excess play could be caused by worn track rod ends and giving a false centre in the steering when they are trying to do the alignment, if there is no excess play in the steering then ATS and the other place have not set it properly, basically they should be centrallising the steering wheel by turning back and forth then back to the centre and level then use a steering wheel clamp to hold it in the central position, the rear toe should be set first to obtain the thrust angle (imaginary centre line through the car) then the front toe set against that , a place I would highly recommend to do the job properly is www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk, based in Chesham (well worth the journey) as these guys know what they're are doing, have you got a print out of the alignment report done at ATS that you could post on here?
Cheers Pete

Thanks for reply.it's not any excess play.all been done like you said.twice they done alignment.then again in ATS wheels are straight everything shows fine but when you drive steering is not straight pulling to right.Ats said I may need to go for computer alignment.don't know if that help.

This the thing mate , the steering wheel not straight , just haven't set it up correctly by the sounds of it, with the print out what I do is use www.photobucket.com to upload photos , then copy the img file and paste it on here, failing that if it's easier you could email it to me I'll send you a PM (private message on here) with the address.
Cheers Pete
