Cruise control doesn't work, nor do the buttons on the steering wheel for the radio. Could these be linked? (Desperately hoping for a disconnected multiplug somewhere!)

Thanks.

Can you post a hello and introduction in the newbie section? Your responses might be a little more channeled.

:D all depends on the intro, but people appreciate a friendly hello when being asked for help... And sigs and member details arent visible in the mobile phone version of the site.

Now where were we?

Does sound like a loose connection somewhere. Apart from thd horn, there ain't much else to push on your steering wheel no?

No, not much else apart from the function which makes it turn the car from left to right...

Haven't tried the horn, good thought.

Can you post up a picture of the steering wheel.

I take it the radio itself works?

Sounds like a connection, but also worth checking fuses. Anything else not working?

You need to find the big plug labelled 3 in the picture below. This links all your steering controls to the car. When you have that and it is pushed fully home, we can try some basic electric checks if you have a multimeter.

excellent stuff Dan,

may I add, once located maybe worth separating to see if someone has had the wheel off and then damaged a connection when putting it back together.

please make sure you disconnect the battery before playing with any connections on the steering wheel.
the last thing you want is an airbag going off in your face.

Are they lights in the steering wheel controlls in an Honda Accord 2,4 2006? and if so? you can only see it when its reald dark?

Horn not working. Returned to the dealer with some hints at diagnosis, thanks all.

Did you check that connection? Likely to be a bad earth or connection.

No, I didn't. Car returned to supplying dealer for him to sort it out (selling a car without a working horn but a brand new 12 month MOT...) so I didn't think it worth getting my fingers dirty what with covers to remove etc.!

Damn righ!. That's terrible. Keep TA posted.

I didn't realises the airbag light was on... that pretty much confirms it really.

Yes, sorry. I had another post on the airbag problem, and somebody else put two and two together and said they were "obviously" related.
