Any ideas about this folks? Have a 37k petrol Tourer on an 08 plate which seems to have developed some steering wheel wobble most noticeably when driving around 30-40mph. Tyres are standard ones (16inch?) and getting on a bit though I had hoped they may have a few more miles in them. Does seem to be quite road surface dependent, which seems odd? Some roads I can quickly lift my hands off the wheel and it stays rock solid without wobbling, other roads you lift your hands off for a second and there is a very noticeable left-right wobbling of the steering wheel. Car is out of warranty :-(

Any ideas? I'm not technically minded and can't do any work on this myself...

Cheers !

I'd start with the basics...
Firstly, check all the wheel nuts are tight.
Then check the tyre pressures.
Then get the wheels balanced.

Check the tyres to see if they are worn uneven.
This can cause lots of tram lining and what your experiencing.
Also worth getting a hunter alignment but if you need new tyres get it done after.

Is it during braking? Id replace the front discs.

Mine does a very similar thing, 06 plate petrol. I've had an alignment, checked pressures, balanced wheels, new discs & pads (not to fix this fault, just needed doing), and it still does it from time to time. I've just come to ignore it, I don't think the fact that it's electronic power steering helps much either. The Accord (and most Hondas I've driven) are very sensitive to road conditions, unlike German cars, which seem to just eat up any road surface, the Accord really doesn't like uneven roads.
