Tail Pipe

Just a quick q -

Tail pipe on my 2010 EX (derv) is not visible - but there is "cut out marker/line" for it in the bumper (although I should point out it hasnt been cut!). Can the tail pipe from petrol or perhaps S-Type be added/retrofitted? If so, any idea(s) on costs involved?

If your pipe is directly behind the cut out you could get one of these and just attach it to your original pipe.

I haven't keenly looked at the 8thgen bumper do you have a cut out panel just above your current tailpipe?

if so then a simple hack saw off the bend and remove the cut out, cant see why the petrol exhaust garnish wont fit. if you don't have that cut out then clearances will be tight and it wont look right.

Could you take a picture of the bumper around the exhaust tip ... lets have look at it.

Yes of course, I'll take a picture tomorrow and update the thread accordingly. I'm guessing it can be done as the petrol models (non GT variants) have the same bumper but with the tail pipe showing.

Its literally like this:

...and thats the desired look I'd like.

I should have looked at our own high res pictures..LOL

yes its possible as the cut out are clear as day there..

LOL, no worries. Just wondering whether its worth the added cost of getting an OEM backbox for it or perhaps hack off the end and affix a new pipe on it?

That pic, ironically, was identical to the car I test drove - but the colour I couldnt live with. As an aside, what bulb is used in the third brake light?? I fancy swapping mine for an LED one. A bit annoyed that Accords dont have LED rear lights given the premium paid for the rest of the car!

I'll give the dealer a buzz tomorrow to see what they charge.

Also, any idea on the bulb I mentioned above? As always, appreciate the ***istance CJ B)

Thanks as always CJ!

I'd give you a thumbs-up emoticon but there isnt one!

Any word on what the dealer charges? Been thinking about this for some time... Purchased a tip from eBay some time ago and found out the OD of the tip's back part was smaller than the ID of the droopy part. Be good to see what the OE bit costs.

Havent had a chance to ask yet mate. Probably the weekend now before I get chance.

Ouch! Wonder how much your friendly exhaust place (powerflow, etc) would charge to weld a tip on...

The part number is 18310-SJK-013 the retail is £77.00 speak to HH parts team and they will get your club discount.

You're a legend!

Many thanks CJ. I'll ask HH this weekend and if the weather holds out, I'll try and get this done asap. Again, thoroughly appreciate the ***istance CJ. You are indeed a credit to this site. B)
