type r spoiler on my hatchback

Hi guys bit of help needed, i have a basic 1.8 S hatchback on a 51 plate and had seen a sport (hatchback) on the old forum with the type r spoiler so i got one, had it sprayed up then took in to my local bodyshop for fitting and they couldnt do it the problem is that where the bolds end is inside the boot frame and not as i though accessible so they wanted to bond it on its now in my shed, so my question is: are there two differant boots/trunks one that has a spoiler and one without? or could the pre 98 be differant to the post 98?

Hi Chris.

When you do manage to get the spoiler fitted be aware that you will need the struts designed for the rear hatch with a spoiler fitted

Good point, i hadn't thought about the extra weight due to adding a large spoiler, if i get it fitted i'll begin the search, in the mean time could anyone recommend any upgraded boot struts?
