A few months ago the very annoying ABS and VSA illuminated on the dash so I got it diagnosed, it was a faulty rear sensor. I bought one off eBay, mechanic fitted it and cleared the codes so ABS and VSA light went off.

Since then only the ABS light appears when switching car on, no VSA even if I push the button.

Personally I'm kinda glad it doesn't work coz I hated it lol. In fact my cars brakes felt much better when I had the permanent ABS light on.

But I'm curious to know

What would cause the VSA to be completely disabled?

Could it be the fuse? If it was the VSA fuse wouldn't that disable ABS too?

Dashboard has no Christmas lights on. Service is coming up in a few months, so I'll ask my mechanic to do a diagnostic check.

I just thought if VSA had an issue it would affect ABS too.
