I have been reading the various threads on shampoos, clay bars, polishes etc and have decided on Ag shampoo & conditioner, bilt hamber or megs soft clay (I've never used it before) and then AG Super Resin Polish to put a bit of life in the old girl.

But what wax or sealant would the experts recommend for Amazon green pearl?

It has not had a proper wax for a few years and has had most of the panels resprayed at some point in the last 3 years. The bonnet has a number of deep stone chips that I need to sort first, and the last respray didn't take too well on one panel and has left micro "dimples" in the finish.

I am confused with the various types of Collinite available, or would another brand suit my colour better?

Cheers in advance :)

There are many better placed to advise you, but I've just got in from washing the car...

On a whim I recently bought some Collinite 476s off eBay, and have just tried it for the first time.

Dead impressed!

Time will tell how it weathers, but it goes on easy, develops a deep slippy shine and leaves only minimal dust. I think AG SRP might be better at shifting tree sap and the like, but if it's reasonably clean to begin with I'd say give it a go.

Depends if you want the pearl flecs to to pop or you want durability?

I use a different wax for summer and winter to achieve different needs.

Considering the miles I drive and the roads of north Wales I'd prefer durability from now until Feb/March and then nice and shiny for the summer.

I need to look at the collinite site at their different products, I'm on my phone at the moment but will do some research tonight.

Thank you both for your replies

If its durability go for collinite or fk1000 both dirt cheap and good results. Fk1000 is good also for sealing alloy wheels.

Thanks for that, what number of collinite would you recommend?

I cleaned my wheels thoroughly a few months ago and coated them in Simonez Diamond wax; they looked good in my eyes so a more specialised product would probably make them like new!

476 is better for lighter colours, 915 seems to suit darks...

for a good winter protection I'd be looking at about 3 layers of colly with a good few hours between.
