I've now had my 52 reg Type V for sale for 6 weeks and not ONE call. 3 weeks on Autotrader @ £40 and its on here, Gumtree and Viva Street (Adtrader) with photos. Is the recession that bad as I dont think I'm asking too much at £1750 for a lovely condition top of the range car.I've seen dealers asking nearer 3 grand for their's. Maybe an ad stuck in the window when its parked. Everybody that's seen or been in it or borrowed it has commented on its colour combination and condition. I dont, wont, want to put it on Ebay because of their fees. Patience, and its still taxed,insured and MOT'd so I'm still using it.

Thanks for that. I've not tried Pistonheads but I will now, didn't know it was free. No calls (or even a stupid call) no viewings. No Kids No Pets No cigarettes.
 
The fee for a car on ebay is £38 plus about £20 selling fee at the end. sounds bad, but trust me, on this it WILL sell there, relisting is free, so its £38 until the car sells, unlike autotrader, so its the way forward.

Use an auction too, start at 99p put a reserve on for £1700 and start it at 9.30pm on Thursday for a 10day auction. Then watch it sell. ;)

Also saloons are the hardest to shift, many becuase they hold no value noone wants them, you can pick up a rusty Ford KA for £1200, the market its twisted lol, but theres nothing you can do.

Car is on Pistonheads. I thought it was a percentage on Ebay but that sounds good reasonable advice. May just try that on Thursday.Mine's a hatch back will that make a difference in your opinion. Thanks.

Unless people bid on it like a boss, and it goes over £2000 the end fee will be £20 for you. Yes hatchbacks sell better. Basically excluding commercial vehicles like vans, the smaller the car in both size and engine size the more people want it, dont ask why, but thats how it is lol. Most of the cars i sell on ebay sell 2nd time round, after a relist, or i get emailed after the end of auction and it sells then
 
I used Pistonheads (paid for the first ad, but subsequent ones i did on the free ads, i'd go free straight off next time).

Ebay also have a classifieds option, where they charge to list it (i seem to recall around £15). Just take it off ebay when sold there are no sale fees (as long as you don't take a payment by paypal!)

Be careful with Ebay. You will get loads of idiots asking if you will take 5 quid and some crisps or a potential non payer. I have tried to shift my last 3 cars on Gaybay and it was Autotrader that has been the one where the car sold.

Is your car competitively priced with other similar spec cars.???

Looking at Autotrader you may need to drop the price a bit to shift it to be honest.

i bought my honda accord off Ebay, it had been relisted because the guy had dogs and kids :(.
defos put it up tho coz it lets you check the number of people watching it :) let you see there are people intrested

DONT use the pay pal tho coz theres a 3.5% charge for the transaction (very sneeky :ph34r: )

it is true that small cars with small engine go for good money. funny how that happens :wacko:

really dont want to suggest this but have you tried " we buy any car .com" ?
 
I sold my old 6th on Ebay. Got a good price too.

That webuyanycar place is rubbish. Only use them as a FINAL RESORT. for a laugh i put in my ATR and they offered me £900ish for it!
 
Well, its been on Pistonheads,Gumtree,Vivastreet,Autotraderand 3 times on ebay ending tonight and the highest bid was £998. Unbelievable!!!!. I wont give it away.I think the other car may have to go now.With my luck I'll still have it at Xmas.
 
Don't be surprised if you receive a call a couple of weeks after listing on gumtree . Unlike you I have sold stuff too cheaply just to get it away ,cars and computers .
The guy I m buying this Accord from could get more( had 79 views on gummy in 1 day with 7 calls after me) but he wants it away before his new motor comes . Its down to the individuals situation . Try a decent looking banner on your car windows I look at all of them ..... I understand your frustration mate . Wish you luck .
