With the exception of the windscreen, it seems that all the windows on my car have scratches from them. Most of which appears to be from the spirited use of an ice (or paint) scraper by one or more previous owners...

Now I know some people might not be bothered about such an issue but some of these scratches are deep. And it's a challenge to see out of them at night sometimes - i.e. getting dazzled by lights from other cars etc.

I'm not too keen on forking out 7x £80+ for brand new glass, so I was wondering if there is a company out there that can fix these scratches? I've thought about buying one of those windscreen scratch removal kits, but I've read that this can cause a problem called lensing?

Thanks.

Most of my windows are ok, apart from the windscreen which has thousands of tiny swirls all over. Sometimes at night it's horrible, so much so I've toyed with the idea of breaking it and getting an insurance replacement. I'd be interested to see if there are any other options...

There are kits you can buy now of polishing compounds for glass. A friend used one called Ceri-Glass and it seemed to do a decent job on his windscreen. It needs to be used with a dual action polisher or similar.
