Hi,

I'm just wondering if anyone has a review, or uses the above system and can offer a brief review? I've got a 2004 Diesel Ex with the premium sound and sat nav. I understand the above unit will just plug into the aux port of the radio.

I'm just curious how it works with the phone element and radio etc.

Thanks so much for input and insight :)

I think there is quite a few threads on the forum already

I would provide a link but there are too many results in the search

Strange. I searched and found lots of threads talking about all sorts of issues mostly relating to installation, hoping for xcarlink to be upgraded to include bluetooth (which it now does) and discount codes.

I cannot find anyone telling how it works once installed and how it works in the long run. Did they all cause issues and problems or are they installed silently and barely remember it's there other than it being functional. When my phone rings when I'm listening to the radio will it automatically switch to the phone and mute the radio? Do I need to press a button to answer it? Does it it fare up over 2-3 years of constant use. Are there bug bears? Are there glitches? Is there an irritant? Is it the best thing bought for the car? Does the blue tooth stutter at all? Does it refuse to link with some devices. Are there some controls that refuse to work over the steering wheel?

These are all the questions i cannot find answers to. Maybe I'm using the search wrong?

or maybe you're also expecting too much from a car forum in 2016

AFAIK the only people who ever wanted more from the inbuilt stuff on the Accord are those with 6th gen and pre-facelift 7th gen Accords, so you're quite a few years "behind the wave" now

try limiting the search to the "DIY reviews" section

I was thinking about getting an xcarlink but a bit confused. Can you install it without losing your cd player , I saw I think an aux spliiter cable that can be used? I may just opt for an FM transmitter for now.

Hi I have a xcarlink bluetooth unit fitted to my petrol tourer works superb with samsung galaxy phone for music + handsfree incoming phone calls works off steering wheel controls. As i dont have factory fitted sat nav cant comment on this sorry.

I've just installed the bluetooth interface into mine and I'm really happy with it. Not tried to use the phone feature yet I bought it just to stream music from Spotify via my phone really.

The car came with an 3.5mm jack in the AUX port when I bought it and it was a bit tempermental with the volume going up and down randomly plus the static interference ruined the sound quality. Now I just have lovely clear sound and one less wire in the car B)

I bought this one last week, fitted it over the weekend and it works just as expected.

Its quite a small unit so ran the cable through the glovebox and its hidden away in the glovebox. I've played music from sd card and my phone and had no problem. Steering controls work too. As I've got sat nav I can confirm this works with sat nav. Though it seems like it doesn't like multiple folders on an sd card but I'll look into it more as I've time.
However, I've got one issue and before I take apart everything the second time round I'd like to know what could I had possibly messed up? My Sat Nav isn't working anymore. I'm getting the screen with red lighting which tells you to leave the car running and it could take up to 10 minutes for GPS to pick up signal. Not exact writing but similar to step 17.

I hope someone know exactly what I need to do. :)
