    1st MOT Fail

Looks a wee bit corroded, but as the parts in the photo are quite solid and thick (ie not like a car wing) the corrosion shouldn't be a problem. I have noticed that my accord is also starting to look a bit like that. Here's a tip, before the MOT next year/retest, get a wire brush and rub the...

How long are you keeping the car for?

Registered 2005 Bought 2012 (52K now 83K on clock) Replaced an Audi A4 diesel and a far superior car, more reliable, quicker, better handling and a better feel of quality about it. I've had no problems with it at all, up for sale at the minute as I've got itchy feet again and have ordered...

    7th Gen value...

Cheers. It has 11 months MOT, full service history etc. Although it looks like my wife is going to inherit it when my Volvo arrives, I dont' need to sell it and would rather keep it than give it away lol. True there are few Accord's in the North (although I was in a convoy of 7 this morning...

    7th Gen value...

They are slightly higher as mentioned regarding the price of the sport models for sale. Looks like I might be keeping it in the driveway as I ordered a new Volvo estate a few weeks ago and its due next week

    7th Gen value...

I've been looking at prices and see 2006/07 diesel sports with 80-100k on them go for £3800/£4000. So an executive is bound to be worth£4000 or more with everything in in, touch screen sat nav etc, FHSH

    7th Gen value...

I get itchy feet every few years with cars and tend to change them. I'm trying to sell a 2005 diesel Exec with FHSH, every option and 84k on it. I've it advertised at £4050 and not a single phone call!

    sat nav issues

I got a copied V2.11 disc and at times it can be slow loading, or display "Disc Error" "older version of software" etc, esp when it is warm. But it usually rectifies itself once switched off and on

    HID kit installation

I got my lights realigned by a garage and the two guys who own the business said that I should have no issue with my HID's for the MOT as I have light washers fitted, and as long as they work ill be fine. Over here in Northern Ireland we cant go to any private garage for MOT's. We have to go to...

    Torn between petrol and diesel

Lol, I don't have vertigo problems, although my equilibrium problems actually improve with alcohol consumption

    Torn between petrol and diesel

Vespa? I'd love one only my balance is very poor (I have problems putting sock and shoes on without falling over) so that's the Vespa outta the window. I'm buying something else for my early mid-life crisis, Volvo V70 R! Don't even want to think about the MPG out of that bad girl.

    HID kit installation

After consulting these forums I purchased a 35W 6000K HID kit with slim ballasts. I loosened the top of the bumper to remove the light units and hid the actual HID kit inside the light behind the cover. I tried to tape the ballasts and ignitors in but wasn't much room with the silicone bags ect...

    eBay Wind Deflectors

I sourced a set of ebay too, just the front ones, £22. I didn't use the clips provided, had to snip a bit off the drivers side deflector to get it to fit, and also sliced a trench into my finger (those deflectors should come with a danger warning). The reason I only fitted front deflectors is...

What make's your 7th gen unique

Well there are not many Accords around me, mines silver, well it was silver. It hasn't been washed since I bought it 2.5 years ago, and it wont be washed. It is a distinctive black colour, with translucent, bordering on opaque windows. Apparently, its famous as someone has photo's of it parked...

    Torn between petrol and diesel

I've a 2.2 diesel and I love it. I do about 40K per year and believe me, when I can run it on Red diesel (agricultural fuel and dodge VOSA) it works out quite cheap. 15K and under go for a petrol. With a budget of about 2K, never buy a diesel (unless its a run about / 2nd car) as it could be a...

Navigation disk later than 2.04 wanted

I got a v2.11 disc from ebay, £12. Great job, although there are times that it just wont load, esp when the car is switched off after driving for a few hours then fired up again. Sometimes takes ages for the "OK" button to come on, other times it says "Disc is reading a fault". However, works...

What sort of mpg do you all get on your diesels?

Hi. The vast majority of you guys seem to be getting decent mpg. Although I place this fact down to that fact that you are mostly on mainland UK roads, which have a surface as smooth as a baby's bottom compared to the roads I have here in Northern Ireland! They are narrow, winding and extremely...

What's the most miles you've done on a tank?

I've never got more than 500 from a full tank of diesel (running down the side of car when filling). Until I put a genuine Bosch diesel filter in I was getting 450 miles to a tank. How do people get so much driving out of their tanks? I Don't drive around towns and it is an hours commute to work...
