Need to change brake pads! Any Help out there?

Hi,

As the ***le really, i'm going to try to replace the brake pads on my T reg 1.8 accord. i have the pads now, but would be really grateful if anyone knows of a "how to" that has been posted on here or the web, so i could follow their guidance.

Yes and i did find one, although it talked about winding back the pistons and being unable to push them in? I thought all pistons could be pushed back? Just looking for a more detailed thread if there is one?

This is the tool to wind the rears back, the fronts push back.

I ***ume it's a rel. easy job to do o the fronts and then just as easy once i have the tool for the rears?

Just a tip, use a wire brush on the carriers and the metal "bits" that the brake pads sit in. It helps to avoid the pads sticking later on.

If your discs are getting on a bit, then you may need force the pads apart to get the carrier to setting over the lip.

Yeah, those vids I've linked above cover all you need to do.

As mentioned by Colin, I also wire brush the carriers to clean them up (and a few blasts of brake cleaner also keeps the dust down) and allow the new pads to slide. Copper grease on the main contact areas between the pads edges and carrier (not on the friction surfaces). Also pop the slide pins out and clean them, then regrease with red rubber grease.
