Hey all,

I'm looking to buy a 2.2 CDTI Tourer, though they seem to be rare as!

Have 3 to 4k to spend so looking at 04/05 plates, and they all seem to range from 100k to 130k.

Any tips on what to look out for? I'm pretty handy with cars and my mechanic mate will be looking at them too, but we're not familar with the 2.2 CDTI Tourers.

Cheers!

Look out for clutch slip, Knocking DMF, Smell of exhaust fumes in the cabin (cracked manifold) Smooth acceleration with no blips or misses and knocking front suspension. And listen for a rattling timing chain.

In fact read through the pinned topics at the top of this section for the most important things to look for.

To be fair all modern diesels have faults and unfortunately the Accord is no exception. But its better to go in with your eyes open and not get burnt. If he finds a good one i am sure he will have many many miles of happy motoring.

Cheers for letting me know! That was a potential for next weekend, if I hadn't found anything by then!

Thanks for the advice. I've heard nothing but good things about the tourers.
