What do you get out of updating to the latest Sat Nav DVD?

Firstly, will 8th gen Sat Nav DVDs work in 7th gen Sat Nav systems?

If so, other than updated road information, what are the advantages of upgrading...

- Are the graphics better?

- Are the names of roads shown on the maps?

- Can you search by full post codes?

I got told they wouldnt work you only can have version 2.11 I think it was not the 3.xx in the 8th gen?

Ive got the 2.11 and theres no difference between that and the 2.06 version car came with apart from the newer section on the A1 :lol:

Gaz, the prefacelift 7th gen has maps beginning with a 2, but the facelift 7th gen brought in version 3 maps

I like the OEM look, plus I have Tomtom on my phone as a fall back option. I'll be honest, it's more for aesthetic reasons than anything as I rarely have to use it!

The facelift was released on the some late 05 models but most on the 06
