Heh folks. I bought a 2002 SE Executive last year and the car was running great. But then it started to use a lot of oil (1 litre a week), and the engine management light kept throwing up code 1491. So I decided to rather than try and solve the problem, get a new engine. Managed to pick up a great buy from fleebay and my mechanic mate fitted it for me. All in total the cost was £400. The new engine came with nothing attached just a bare engine, so my mechanic took all the parts from my own one and put them on the new one. He noticed the EGR Valve was not looking very great but had no choice to put it back on. The car was running great for a few days then the eml light came back on. Got it checked and the codes came back as 1491 again but also 401.
Where is the best place to get a new valve except Honda, they want £325 then VAT on top of that??
