the thing im unsure of is the front anti roll bar link has excesive play looked on you tube seems easy enough i phoned holdcraft and they said the part was over £50 i see them on euro car parts for less than £20 not sure if tourer or salon are difrent.

i have a 2005 tourer cdti any one no where to source the parts from?

The rear caliper on the tourer tend to sieze overtime with the amount of gunk on them, also excessive salt, etc can wear out the rubbers. Personally I used Bigg Red to get refurbed one - more more peace of mind and replace both of them as the other side wasn't too far behind.

As for droplinks, I've a DIY on the front ones up here. Pretty straight-forward, but the tourer and saloon are different on the rear - same on the front. I did use Honda ones for the front one, but yes, they were €60 each. Never again, I used patten parts for the back and I've had no issue with them. People recommend blueprint if you can ge the parts.

yes will replace calipers both of them as they are sticking as well ordered the brake lines from hel phoned them up as they dont say saloon and tourer i will loook at the drop link diy seen a few on youtue so have rough idea .
not sure if i will attemt the brake lines or get them done at garage as dont want to be stuck with them ive seen the diy on here and although looks easy but i no from past practice that the bolts shear off on these cars .

Well the tourer and saloon rear brake lines are different length - from memory the tourer length is 56cm I think (not sure).

But when my calipers were sticking, I just replaced the calipers and not the lines and flushed the fluid and all was well again. Another member cut a used line open and found no issues with the rubber hose - so you may not be impacted by this.

yer i heard that thats why i phoned, will put them on see how they go if still sticking not a big deal as i am so used to strippong the bloddy caliper i can get them off quick .

so will mount them bleed see how we get on guys .

Update following the diy guides on here i got the arb bottom bolt out but top is stuck its slipping out of my mole grips so will have to grind that off i guess.
went to euro car parts told them i need tourer parts not saloon dont listen do they . the arb boxs had the oem nos on so a quick viit to lings and i see they are the saloon rings them up why do u think they wont fit he says diffrent part nos bit of a give way dont u think?

looks like i will have to get them from honda no one seems to stock the tourer they all belive they are the same as saloon.

fitted 2 new callipers and rear brake hoses but my n/s/r is still binding .
when i bleed the brake up it binds straight away only way to free it is to take caliper of open bleed screw and push piston back.

any help stumped .

Re the ARB, the Saloon and Tourer front are the same. The rears are not. The Tourer rear ARB is longer.

Re the bindind calipers, are you sure it's not the pad carriers? I had this with mine. You'll need to take out the carriers and ensure that the pads are free to move in them. To do this take the caliper off and ensure that the pads are free to move in/out in the carrier. If not, start scraping as rust build up prevents them from freely moving.

not sure i have new pad carriers and new slides they seemed to move freely yesterday when i had not bled system just applied the brake a few times to see if were sticking. bled system today after fitting the o/s and sticking will check the carriers again to be sure frustrating thats all

If the calipers are removed are the pads moving freely in the carriers? If they are not clean the carriers of any rust, dirt, etc.

If they are moving freely, then the caliper is not retracting with the release of pressure from the master cylinder. Check for air, etc. Is it both calipers or just one?

just the n/s/r i have new discs pads fitted last week had brake bind and fitted new calipers and hoses as i was getting intermittent pobs on rear as per tourer.

will have to strip the caliper down again and look .

Are the calipers reconditioned? Did you do the strip and build yourself? If so did you replace the piston itself? Pitting seems to be a common problem with them when they stick.

I ***ume the o/s/f is not sticking? The brakes are generally linked in a cross-diagonal and as such if there's a pressure problem from the MC then it's possible that the front is sticking. However, you've a VSA in the way ....

TBH, common stuff first. clean carrier, check caliper movement.

bought recons from brakes international no no bind on fronts at all took if for a drive afterwards to see if it cleared up no luck there
must be something ive done before the brake rebuild they were not like this

So then, ***uming the calipers are 100% it's

1. The pad carriers have rust build up restricting movement
2. Air in the system

Both are simple fixes.

well tried again cleaned pad carriers and behind bled then binds again , if i undo slightly the slide botls in releases the brake then reapply brake and its locked so looks like the caliper not retracting.

took it apart again cleaned it all over pads and slides are all clean removed exess paint of pads still sticking

cant understand why one side is and the other isnt.

Sounds like one of the calipers are still sticking. I ***ume you've a warranty with the supplier - send it back!

sent the car to a local garage as was lost needed a few extra things doing and mot at end mot at end of week , told me i needed new handbrake shoes as the parking break is not applying on o/s/r
i had allready purchased these but apon inspecting them they looked no diffrent to the new ones so left them .
the parking break was not applying to the os despite me ajusting in car down to 4 clicks and still no bite . could be a cable not sure some people say u ajust also in drum but did not try this as was unsure and did not want to mess things up.

will see what garage says about breaks.

well had garage look at them and they say the carrier was fitted badly as i used the wrong bolts . so had a new carrier fitted (breakers yard) breaks still binding told to try new slide pins now

when i fit the old caliper back on whitch has never been driven with this carrier it binds again.

any thoughts?

further update spoke the said garage and they say i have damaged the copper brake line when i fitted the flexi hose , the nut is damaged but cant see any sign of compression on the brake line.
no mention of this to me to i phone them up.
raelly getting fed up with so called mechanics who tell porkies .

aa recovering me tomorrow morning to the mot center that failed the car wish id used them in the first place.
