Oil for 2.2 i-CTDI 0w30(0w40) or 5w40

I use 0w-30 and find the car runs great. Main reason for this so I don't put strain on the timing chain. We have found in the past that most timing chain failures are with owners who have been using 5w-30 or thicker. Your motor so do make your own decision but for ME 0w-30 is perfect.

Hi members,

sorry em just jumping in this conversation rather than starting a new post. I need a service and I always go for 0w30 in winter and 5w40 in summers ( as I change oil twice a year, new oil for new weather ). But this is what i tell the garage guys to put it in. This time I want to do a service myself as its frequent maintenance and will save some money.

Now as I went online to buy oil i couldn't find B1 or B2, all the oils availabe for 0w30 are C1 or C2 or B4 or B5. Can you please guide me if this is an issue or just em being soo precise?

secondly there is an advert on ebay who claims to provide honda geniune oil and filter for 75 pounds, I got some doubts as i called honda and they charging me 102 pounds ( 17 pounds per liter )

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161145401766?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

should i go for this ebay oil?

Thank you

Manchester Honda are a reputable main Honda dealer - you'll be absolutely fine with them.

Honda recommend 0W 30 for your engine, summer and winter.

well i found that the advert claiming genuine oil and filter are fake caz they provided the email address PARTS@MANCHESTERHONDA.CO.UK while digging more into it, the http://manchesterhonda.co.uk/ DOES NOT EXISTS. Al tough the ratting of the seller are high but still wont go for it.

I called Honda Bristol today and they themselves are using Castrol oil.

My major question remains the same, can I just buy any 0w30 oil? means if its C1 or B4 or B5, does it matter caz Honda recommends B1 with 0w30 and i cant fint 0w30 with B1

clumsy the item for sale on ebay are genuine...because honda manchester - which dealer can be the Swansway Honda or the other honda dealer are register to an other kind of email address that doesn't mean that the products are not genuine!

Hi Guys

Interesting thread, the oil question is a frequent and much debated topic, what I will say that there are many satisfied users on here using the Exol product which we have now been providing to members for a number of years.
I have never heard of Exol is a frequent comment, if you are not sure ask the guys on here who use it, Exol's reputation has grown hugely over recent years, you will find their oil in many re-branded products that you will be familiar with, also in the tanks of Main dealers up and down the country

One thing proven for sure is that once you make the move from another brand you will come back for more and you will save money and that's got to be good

I'm one of them, I've used Exol for 7 years now, with no problems whatsoever, and saved a fortune on big brand prices.
