Hi Guys,

I have a 2009 Honda Accord 2.2 DTI GT Executive, this has the sat nav built in the car with the dvd drive in the boot. I updated the sat nav with 2011-2012 western Europe version 3.60, however a friend who sold his car gave me this disc. This was a original Honda disc but had many scratches, I keep getting the disc error message on my screen after a while when driving. I wanted to revert back to the original disc I had in my car but I am unsure how to do this? My local Honda dealer said you cannot revert back to the original, is this true? As on my old Honda accord 2005 you could? Please can you provide detail information on how I can do this if it is possible?

I also have tried cleaning the dvd lens with dvd lens cleaner disc as I thought the dvd lens may be dirty, does anyone know of someone who can also have a look at my dvd drive to see if there is not fault with my dvd drive, as the Honda dealer is quoting me a very high price for this. Does anyone know of a company or individual who can look at my dvd drive or specialise ion this?

thanks
Mohsin

Your local dealer are telling you lies and yes you can revert back to an older disk. They probably won't you to just buy a new disk for £160 or what ever it costs.
You just need to go into the hidden menu Just for reference the 8th gen is the same as 7th gen for the hidden menu. Map/Cancel/Menu button all at once hold down for 3 sec
I will confirm later as I'm only on the mobil.
Also I'm sure it tells you in the handbook how to get to the hidden menu

Thanks, please do let me know, I have got in the hidden menu but do not know where to go ?

Your help will be really appreciated Brett

thanks

you can revert to old version by inserting old disc, and just need to choose force download and sat nav should just download itself older version from the disc, at least this is how it works on 7 gen.

Thats a good start. With the old disk put in go to the hidden menu and as said you should be given the option to download the old disk.
Just found this also so might help but think its for an older gen accord but same will apply.

The official Honda method for forcing sat-nav to reset:
1. Start the engine.
2. error message appears on screen with old disc inserted.
3. Push Map/Cancel/Menu switches simultaneously for 2 seconds.
4. Screen turns to SYSTEM LINK page with a fanfare.
5. Press 'NEXT' switch (opens car staus page).
6. Press 'NEXT' switch (opens yaw rate page).
7. Press 'NEXT' switch (opens diagnosis menu page).
8. Select 'UNIT CHECK'.
9. Select 'FORCE DOWN LOAD'.
System will now start to download the old operating system firmware from the old disc, showing progress on a green bar gauge.
When finished the unit should be able to be started normally.

Just for my reference, where is the location of the DVD Drive in the boot?
Is your car a saloon?
If so when you look into the boot its on the top right hand side.
Not sure about the tourer

Hi guys I'm trying to do a force download on my satnav, it recognises I've put an older version in.

I've put the old disc in, I've tried the above and when I press map/menu/back arrow it bleeps but the screen does not change?

In the tourer it is in the lower load area, where a spare wheel may sit, right at the end where the rear seats are.
