Hi guys,

My alarm keeps randomly going off all of a sudden, it started happening the other day, first couple of times I didn't think much of it and just switched it off, thinking someone bumped it. Third time, I knew something was wrong. I got into the car and started it up into accessories, and noticed that the door sensor was telling me the rear passenger side door was open, which is was obviously not. I'm ***uming this was the case for it setting my alarm off. Unsure what to do, I just tried everything I could to lock my car without setting the alarm, I tried manually locking with the keys etc, which didn't work, the alarm light that blinks on the dash was still activated. Then, for some odd reason, after messing around with lock door buttons/pull tabs, I tried to use my remote to lock my door, but nothing happened, only the unlock button worked. so I manually locked my car and the alarm light didnt activate, which I thought was great. No idea why, but it worked..

I've been doing the same thing the last couple days, until today, the keyfob started to work again, and even if I manually lock the door, or use the lock switch inside, it still activates the alarm.

I cant lock the door anyhow without setting the alarm, and I can't even leave the car unlocked as it always seems to lock itself and set the alarm.

I've read that if the bonnet is open, the alarm wouldnt be set even if you lock your door. I've popped the bonnet and locked my door and the alarm light doesnt seem to come on.

Could anyone confirm if this is the case? It's late and I can't go anywhere to fix whatever is the issue, so would need to disable the alarm for the night..

I have an Accord 2003 7th gen

Any help in answering if my bonnet trick will work is much appreciated. Also if anyone knows how to totally disable the alarm, any info would be great.

if you have the manual/car book and look at locking settings you will some good advice...take a look meanwhile somebody with the same problem give you a good advice

Unfortunately I am not at home and do not have the manual on me.. I have tried to search for issues, though I can't find anything that answers my question about the bonnet up/alarm etc

did you noticed while driving or just sitting in the car that one of the doors indicator on the dash comes on? I had similar problem, but in my case tail gate locking mechanism had some issues and was locking and unlocking itself which caused alarm goes off.

Yeah, I've seen the door indicator come on for the rear passenger come on, though when setting off, after a minute or so, goes off, and doesn't come back. I've kept the car in Accessories mode and sat there, and the rear passenger light flickered on and off at times, or stayed on for a bit, then went out.

I played around with the door plunger thing, and at times, it doesn't register when I push it in, to try mimic that the door shut. Most times it does, but on some occasions it doesn't. Could it be something to do with a weak battery? Cold weather? It only started to happen the other day when we had a sudden frost come in, and the car doesn't start straight away no more, rather a few seconds.

that door it's probably your problem because the contact that tells if the door is open or close maybe it has dirt inside or it's doesn't work properly.
take the plastic cover off and inspect the contacts...play more with that door

I've done as you suggested and have taken off the rubber cover, I notice that once I unscrewed the rubber cover and pulled the actual switch out of the hole, that it no longer registered the door sensor switch, so the dash light doesn't come on for that door even though its open. As soon as I ground it with the screw to the chassis it registers. I may just leave it unscrewed and duct tape it.. Any thoughts of my solution?

the wiring to the contacts..especially the ground...try to reconnect the wiring to the contacts !
