Want opinion on here before I throw any more money at my god forsaken car !!!!!!

Had a brake judder for a while which I put down to warped front disks, no other issues.

Therefore went ahead and replaced the front disks and pads with no problem and seals seemed fine on the pistons and pushed back fine.

Then took the car out and the judder was still there but had also developed into a rotational binding on the NSF wheel which could be felt catching once per revolution at low speed. Also resulted in a very hot wheel and accompanying smell. It did come and go though and could get to a point where it wasn’t binding.

I therefore thought flexi hoses were maybe breaking up inside as they are original so have just replaced the NSF flexi, taken it out and judder is still there along with hot wheel and smell !

So what next? Is it the calliper? Seemed fine or could it be something in the ABS actuator? If it’s the latter then will be the end of the car because it doesn’t warrant that much time and money on it.

Going to take the calliper off again and check the piston as far as I can but welcome to any other ideas !

Just has this on mine and ended up fitting a new piston and seal. The old piston seemed fine but the seal itself had corrosion under and inside it where it fits the calliper.
The seal has a steel band moulded into it which was rusted onto the calliper. It has stopped the brake binding and the repair kit was only £20 off ebay.

got a link?

Mine was for the 8th gen but this looks like the 7th gen and is the same size anyway:

Took it apart and think found the problem. Was rusty right at the top of the cylinder above the seal and causing the piston to jam. Cleaned it all up so the current piston now slides cleanly and then ordered a new piston kit.

Fingers crossed !

I remove the whole caliper, clamp the hose to stop fluid leakage.
Remove all rubber parts from the caliper and heat it with a blowtorch until its hot enough to sizzle water dripped on to it.
Leave to cool and use a wire brush in a rotary tool to clean the grooves in the caliper.
Blow clean and use some brake cleaner if necessary.
Reassemble with red rubber grease packed behind the square seal groove and the outer bellows seal.
Refit the piston and use moly paste on the pad to piston join, the genuine Honda pad kit comes with this.
Use a strip of cut up plastic milk bottle to aid fitting piston into the bellows seal.
