Need some advice guys, just bought an after market CD/MP3 Stereo ( Pioneer DEH-1300MP) to replace my original Cassette Player (pioneer).....Everything works well with the CD/MP3 but my aerial will not rise upon powering up the Stereo, hence leaving me with very poor reception........any ideas gratefully recieved.
 
You have to connect the cable that makes the antenna to come up to a specific pin in the back of the radio, designed for that purpose.

There were only two(2) connectors to plug in...the main cable, of which I had to use an applicable iso connection and then the aerial connector.......stumped!?!?
 
In that main cable, there is a wire, which when powered(or grounded) makes the antenna goes up. Either the adapter you used doesn't have that wire, or the the radio you bought doesn't have that function.

Right now I can't find out which is the correct wire, I will try to figure out that later.
 
Hi m8

I would check the cable runnning out from the pioneer for a blue wire. and check it runs into the two black plugs on the adaptor cable. the blue wire sends 12volts out when the radio is on, it should send the antenna up. But some aftermarket manufacters are not putting the blue wire in the ISO connectors because it can effect the eletrical systems on modern cars.

also check that your adaptor cable has the blue wire :)

if you post a picture i will be able tell you more.

Hello Mate, no blue connector so back to the tried and tested route of lifting the aerial as required !....cheers for the info.
 
Ooops, completely forgot about this one :blush:

I think its the yellow and black wire that makes the antenna goes up. When looking at the back of the original radio, it should be the wire that goes into the upper left pin, I guess...

Now you need to find out where to connect that wire in the new radio, it should work B)

haha m8 its a blue wire your looking for lol as your man has said it should run into the original honda plug



check that the blue wire has 12 volts when the car is on.

skhell sounds like hes played with this before lol from the pic ^ it does look like its the upper left pin :p
