Hi guys working an hour away from home where my spare keys are. Key is in ignitiom to first contact so I can charge my phone and this stops the remote locking fob from working. Bit tired so locked the doors manually hoping it would open with fob!! Big mistake as now can't open it. Anyone know how to get in car without getting my pregnant fiance on the train out here?

Cheers guys

Have you got break down cover?? Some of them will come out and open the car

AA etc. have disclaimers that say they may cause damage to the car if you're locked out, so I guess they just smash the **** out of the door to get you in!

I think I would break a window, because a locksmith would be more expensive than replacing the window.

Leave the car, catch the train, get your other key, catch the other, and get back to your car ;)

You can always look for a "burglar" and hire him to "rob" your car

Here in Portugal, a friend of mine got with her keys in her old Toyota Corolla, she went to the Toyota dealer, and they opened up the car for her, almost for free, might be worth try going to the nearest Honda dealer...

If your fiance has a spare set of keys at home get her to ring you from her mobile to your mobile, then get her to hold the key fob to the phone and press the unlock button. If you point your phone at the car and hold it close to it it may unlock.

Strange as it sounds, and I don't know how or why. but the key fob signal travels through the phone network. It sometimes works depending on the make of car.

What?!? Is that for real?
Any way, the problem is the key is in the ignition, thus they key fob doesn’t work...

I didn't believe it either till I saw it!

I take it then on these cars if you push the locking pin down and shut the drivers door it doesn't automatically pop back up to stop you locking yourself out!? Which is sort of asking for trouble, like in this case.

If you're going to smash a window make sure it's a drop window not a sealed in fixed one.

If you are going to try and break back in I bet the remote locking button could be pushed with a metal ruler type tool from the top of the drivers door.

I though everyone knew about this, I'm usually quite late hearing about these sorts of things as I don't spend my life watching youtube clips. lol

I heard about it around the same time as 'holding the key fob to your head boosts the range of the signal' Which definitely does work, I used that trick to find my car in a field at Santa pod before. lol

I first saw it on tv, people saying that they'd 'apparently' head about it on youtube and it was 'supposedly' possible . So to test/ disprove it they tried it themselves but to their surprise it worked. I think they did it on a BMW.

Never tried it myself as not had the need but would like to know if it works with the accord - just in case.

Ok everyone, be honest how many of you have now tried this?

I'll probably give it a go later today. I agree on the head boosting the signal, have done that myself, although wouldn't think it is wise to do this too often!
