Sorry, must of missed it on route - I was looking to see if the Vsa unit requires to be coded ,once changed , or if it can be changed like for like?

Father has a 2006 tourer sport, but has done just over the 100,000 mark.
Have got another (ABS/VSA unit) from the scrappy with 3 months warranty, but the garage he went too advises it needs to be coded by Honda - Soooo...Can't do the job!!

Can anyone help please?

Didn't Jav do this as a DIY? I think the thread was lost on the old site :(

jav is the best person to ask.
Im sure its a straight swap but not 100 percent.

Have looked into this further and have been advised that it is a straight swap, but you will have to clear the fault code from the ECU/EMU?

I have managed to get a part from a London breakers yard, I put in for a part,-

57110-SEG-E610-M1, the part that has been sent is a,-
57110-SEF-E610-M1.

I have phoned to question that the part numbers are not the same, they have advised me that this will be the same part!

They have gone by the paperwork as well as the pictures, can anybody confirm this please??

A bit concerned after fitting that it will be the wrong part-what extra damage would it do?

OK, from my point just to finalise on this saga,

We have had the ABS/VSA unit changed out and it has all gone smoothly, once the unit was changed and the brakes bled, the VSA light went out and has not come on since!
All seems to be functioning as it should.

Although we did not have to clear the ECU before it functioned correctly, that has been done as a matter of course!

So all in all it does seem to be a straight change over, like for like,- if any problems occur within the next couple of weeks I will put a note.

Hope this might help others with the same problem!

Thanks for the update Dave and glad it all went well :)

sorry didnt see this thread, but yes its a straight swap.... glad you sorted it :)

How much did this 'swap' set you back?

My dad has got the VSA light illuminated in his derv and it'd be interesting to know what sort of money your looking at to source a used module and just pay the labour to fit it.

Ta ;)

Andy,

Look for a part that matches, a lot of the sites will offer you 1 to 3 months warranty, cost to us for part and to be fitted £275.

To date have had no problems with it! Very Happy :)
