The Tourer bearing are very different from the Saloon bearings, dealer price for Tourer bearing is £228 (each)

Saloon bearings are available at much cheaper prices outside of dealers, but I have not found Tourer rear bearings anywhere.other than dealer.

Does anyone know of a supplier for rear bearings on a Tourer ?

Found this on the bay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-ACCORD-TOURER-2-0-2-4-VTEC-2-2-CTDI-2003-2008-REAR-WHEEL-BEARING-HUB-KIT-/180738341771?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a14d83b8b

Thanks Brett and David, sadly those are saloon bearings (even the ebay one that says Saloon/Estate).

The rear knucle and the bearing are very different on the Tourer (Estate). On the Tourer, the bearing comes off the spindle, which is integral with the knuckle.

If you haven't already sourced one (sorry if this is a little late) I replaced the rear passenger side one on my tourer earlier this summer...the part (non-honda) cost me pence short of £114 quid and a mate helped me to fit it. GMF motor factors.

Hey Roddy and Simon, looks like you've both come up with it !!

123spareparts.co.uk looks correct, I'll give GMF a call as well.

many thanks, not replaced them yet, I was very close to getting them from the dealer !!

cheers, Brian

Prices (for one bearing) :

Local Honda Dealer £132.50 incl Vat

GMF Cheltenham bracnh £126 + VAT (I think that's what he said on the phone)

Holdcroft Honda £119.26 incl VAT (I think incl delivery)

123sparreparts.co.uk £82.80 incl VAT plus £3.50 delivery (phone number on website was odd, will send email to check)

EDIT: actually, I might have to call GMF again, I might have asked for two

Final update for anyone who needs rear bearings for a Tourer.

I emailed 123sparreparts.co.uk and said that although the pciture looked correct, I wanted to be sure, because they listed the same bearing as suitable for the estate and saloon, and gave them the same links as in previous post by me in this thread. I also asked it they shipped from UK (this is because, if they do ship from UK to UK, they are responsible for return postage of item is incorrect). They replied that they ship from Germany, and that there was a mistake , and they no longer had the bearings !

So .... I got them from HH (Holdcroft Honda), £119.26 incl VAT and delivery. They came on Monday, very nice new shiny bearings :)

Type Accord: thanks for the relationship with HH :D

Glad you got there in the end. I have still to do this just cant decide if its the bearing or not that the noise is coming from but ive changed the discs, pads and had to replace the rear calipers they where in bad shape.

Is the noise like loud tyre noise that seems worse at about 20 to 30 miles an hour because I cant feel any play or notch in the hub with the wheel off.

Sorry for the 20 questions but this is driving me mad

cheers

Yes it is, although I wouldn't say "worse" at 20 to 30 mph, I'd say "more noticeable at certain speeds and road surfaces". It's a droning noise, a bit like a distant propeller airplane engine.

I still haven't replaced them yet, there's no play in them, they've been making this noise for over a year, passed MOT last year, MOT is this Friday.

I'll let you know what the MOT chap says ....I've known him for 25 years and I always go there because he is not out to make money, I'll take the new bearings with me. Even if it passes MOT, I will still rpelace them because the noise is now quite loud.

Thanks that would be great mines be doing it on and of for 4 months I replaced the rear anti roll bar rubbers and it quietened down then i got new front tyres and the reduced road noise from the front which might have just made me more sensitive to the noise.
Well let me know how you get on

Cheers

Car passed MOT with no problems. I mentioned my rear bearings before he started (I took new ones with me), and he checked the bearings on the car very closely and said they were OK for MOT, but extremely slight clicking noise on rotation. He says that some of the ball bearings get pitted, and this makes the humming/droning noise when wheel rotating under load.

Here is a pic of a new tourer bearing
