Hi all, I am still debating weather to go for 18 or 17' alloys because the price differences are big. So if anyone has aftermarket 17' alloys fitted to there accord (CL7 shape would be ideal) could you post some pictures please.

I got rid of my 17's for 18's. Look much better imo.

Cheers mate but thinking of going more tuner style than VIP with this one so was thinking 17's with a bit more tyre than 40 profile but need to get some pics lol.

Are those 18's and BBS reps or real please?

There reps. Only cost £560 with rubber.
 
18's ftw, if you don't do it, you'll just regret it, decent rubber for 18's isn't crazy money either
 
17's max, thats my recommendation! I've got Evo 8 Enkei's and they give a decent fit over standard as they're wider and have a lower offset compared to standard honda wheels.

17x7j, 55mm offset honda wheels vs 17x8j, 38mm offset = 30mm more poke at each corner! But the handling makes up for the poke and you'll still clear the arches, but with camber arms front and back you can set it to however you like. Any excuse to ***** this pic anyway, lol

Loving that pic dude! got any side on by any chance? also wasn't plaining on going coilovers just the PI lowering springs which are on atm would 17's leave to much of a arch gap do ya think?

Ignore the hardcore toe out on the rear, i hadnt had my alignment done yet as all the suspension was only fitted a couple of days before. I think you should look at pics of how other peoples cars sit after fitting springs. Im only saying as a few people on here have changed set ups a few times to get the look they want. That way you end up spending a lot more money rather than just going for coilovers first. I know in my younger days on my first car i changed suspension twice and then i still wasnt even happy. So after that i always go for coilovers first time, no other option comes close to the full adjustments you can get with proper coils, it all depends on your budget but i can guarantee you'll be happier if you go for coilovers first B)
 
Cheers for that guys looks like going 17's :) The previous owner had the lowering springs put on but I didn't want this project to cost that much like they have before...guessing 600+ for coilovers for the CL7 accord?

Blames are you on coilovers on the RPF1 pic?
 
Aye 225/45/17, the standard size for our cars. In the pic with the blue wheels im using my current tyres, Bridgestone Potenza RE050's with the normal 91 load rating, but these are very stiff side walls, just like i like them for sharp turn in, lol. The pic with my bronze wheels i was using the same size tyres but they were Falken FK-452's with the 94 XL Extra Reinforced Sidewall but you can see how they sag compared to the potenzas. Even though they're a reinforced sidewall they're nowhere near as stiff as the potenzas with the regular load rating, lol. They also wore quickly with my -2.5 degree rear camber, where as the potenzas haven't really. Imo the tyres are just as important to think about too if you're into hard parking, lol

Nope! im on Eibach springs. didnt really want to go coilover route as i wanted to keep the ride comfortable. even when the standard shcoks blow i think il be getting some koni shocks to replace.
 
I'm also looking for some Enkei's but not sure if they won't stick out too much from arches because of low offset? Car is not lowered yet, but I'm planning to do so in that case if I will have 4 people on board do I need to worry about rubbing? what about bore size? do you need any ring to fit them on the hub?

depends on your wheels size and offset. i had 235 on my enkei and even with a arch roll and pull it would still catch. so if you went for something less agressive then i dont think it will be a problem.

Really depends on which rims and size you go for. blue guru has evo8 wheels and they are 17x8 et38 and it claers after lowering, as this gives some negative camber. trye size is also important. anything bigger than 225 is gona cause more rubbing. bore size on evo enkeis are 67.1 so jsut get some 67.1-64.1 spigot rings. will also need the evo style washer and flatseated wheel nuts.

if you want wide rims and want peace of mind then get arches rolled! you get alot of clearance.
 
The first time i saw evo 8 enkei's on a CL9 was on tsxclub, the guy even used the oem evo tyres which are 235/45/17 and he had to get his arch work done to clear the arches after lowering. I bought camber kits front and back beforehand before the wheels or coilovers even went on so i knew i could have the camber adjusted to clear my standard unmodified arches.

I think with standard camber settings, the wheels/tyres will only rub if you drop it really low. I think on springs you might be safe but dont take my word for it, lol!

Dan is right about the spigot rings, they need to be 64.1mm-67.1mm. I still need to pick up a set of proper evo wheel nuts, ive been using my oem honda ones and they've worn away a bit of the paint on each wheel once torqued up.
 
I will definitely use 17" but not sure about width but probably 7,5 or 8 depends what I'll get. Tyres will remain as I got now 225/45 R17. really want to avoid messing with arches ,too much hassle for me. Suspension will be lowered in future with B12 kit ( Eibach pro-kit + bilstein dampers ) what gives about 30-35mm drop,still not sure if I'll need camber kit but will see. I believe that these evo wheelnuts have same thread as in our hondas?
 
yeah the wheel nuts use the same thread, both mitsubishi and honda, for these cars anyway, lol. wee disclaimer there :lol:

Quality! They look in really good nick, get them on asap, i wanna see lots of 7th gens on evo wheels. Every colour combination possible, lol! I took a winter pic of mine at the weekend too as ive put my winter wheels on now, they're also evo 8 enkei's but in a really bright silver.

hehe Oz how many sets of Enkei's do you have? :D so far I've seen bronze,blue and now silver ;) can't wait to see those in pink :lol:
 
The bronze set were my first, then I bought the silver set for winter use. The bronze respray was a custom colour mixed specifically mixed for me. It became popular up here as so far noone had been able to get a decent replica paintjob done of volk bronze. Quite a few cars up here have it done now so I was looking for a change.

This time I had my bronze wheels sprayed in a custom blend again, but this time trying to replicate volk mag blue. It's been done a few times already up here but I wanted my own take with a bit of extra flake so they sparkle under direct light, lol. I've still got a spare 5th wheel in bronze as I only got 4 sprayed blue this time, not 5 like last time. So to answer your question I've got 9 EVO 8 enkeis for my car, lol! I'm always on the lookout for cheap spares so I can maybe make a thirst set, lol

I think it's time to start my own collection of wheels :) but where do I have to keep them? Hmmm bedroom lol :)
