Car struggles with air con on.

Guys just to dig up an old thread. With reference to he car beings sluggish with the air con on, I was talking to an air con service bloke the other week and he encountered a Vauxhall Corsa that whenever you turned he air on on it would cut out. Just totally stall each time you pressed the air...

additional battery on honda acourd tourer 56 plate 2ltr

A friend I work with has got such a system on his Mitsubishi L200. He's got this box on the dashboard which shows which battery the car is charging and also if the main battery goes flat it will switch to the other battery automatically to start the car. Think that's how it works anyway, tbh...

    Clutch squeal...

Thanks exec, I thought as much. Think I'll let it squeal a good while longer before replacing it. It only squeals for a few seconds first thing and is then ok through the day.

    Clutch squeal...

Not having much luck with this car of mine lately, last week the slave cylinder went and now this week it's started making a squealing sound from the clutch when cold first thing. It's definitely the clutch because if I press the clutch pedal the noise stops and then returns when the pedal is...

    Refurbishing alloy wheels.

Great isn't it? I even love just watching the videos of them going in the bath. Just amazing the results you get ;)

    Refurbishing alloy wheels.

I've been thinking of getting mine refurbished, I probably won't but I've been thinking about it lol. Anyway one thing that really caught my eye was a process called hydro dipping where they dip them in this mad bath thing and the results are just amazing! Look it up on you tube if you've not...

1999 Accord with F20B6 engine losing coolant

Oh yeah they heat up ridiculously quick! Be great come the winter :) In answer to your question, no I wouldn't add a k-seal to the current radiator in the hope of curing it. It sounds like from what you've said that radiator has well and truly had it. It's knackered lol. Best change it. I'd...

1999 Accord with F20B6 engine losing coolant

Do you have any other symptoms to indicate a head gasket? Water in the oil or vice versa perhaps? If you haven't and the car was driving ok then I wouldn't worry. If I were you I'd just bite the bullet and stick a new radiator on it. If you still lose coolant afterwards I'd stick a bottle of...

    Time to Lube up!

There may be certain 5w30 oils you can get away with mate. But not 10w40, that grade is old hat now and pretty much all modern engines use thinner grades of oil. Euro car parts have good offers on all the time, keep a look out and you'll get your oil for what, 30 quid maybe? I'd just get the...

How much for new clutch 2.4 petrol?

Best bet is to phone round a few local garages mate and see what the going rate is. An extra twenty quid for a garage you can trust is worth it.

All you wanted to know about engine oils & fuels !

That quick word about synthetic is very true! Hence Castrol have been lableing some of their Magnatec oils as fully synthetics which is very misleading.

Wow really, I find mine ok on corners. No better or worse than any other car. I guess I've not really pushed it. Was yours a type R?

Sorry medical flyer I did reply in the last post but it somehow never posted it! Yes they are hard to kill aren't they! I think they get passed up because people think they will be thirsty. They're right they are thirsty an all lol. But they're great solid cars all the same.

Oh yeah I know, already had the brake pipes done. That was a lovely surprise in the first week I got it! The pipes were badly corroded, leaking and about to burst. I txt the last owner and told him he was lucky he never had an accident in it. How does yours run at 145k?

    Quite pleased :)

Because I've had my accord in the garage this week and I asked them to change the fuel filter and also do a full pre mot check. It's not actually due a mot until January but I'm going on holiday in it next month and seen as I've not had this car long I thought I'd get it properly checked out...
