It's fixed :P broken wire going into the ECU had produced an intermittent short & spiked the old ECU. Big goodwill contribution from HUK, Newton Honda have been great throughout. Glad to have the car back. It was even cleaned. Credit to Newton Honda - let's hope I don't need to test their...

Latest breaking news. Its not been cured by a replacement battery which initially cleared the fault only for it to return after 5 or so engine starts. Another ecu snapshot has been dispatched to HUK and they are now being advised to go through the loom as apparently engine RPM is fluctuating...

No developments as yet. The civic is a petrol auto - it's like driving a food whisk! We've managed to squeeze in but I'm missing the comfort & space of the accord.. Ade

The CPS was mentioned in this evening's progress update.. but apparently the sensor isn't the problem, and I still needed a replacement ECU. It appears they believe they've narrowed it down to two possiblities, CPS sensor belt and or plate? I'll find out more tomorrow after 10. Will update. Ade

In a further twist, the new ECU has not fixed the problem... Honda Technical are being consulted and I'll get an update later today :lol: What happens if they can't fix it? Ade
