    Best Oil - 2004 2.4 Petrol

The best way for me without covering myself in oil has been over the top! I put a blanket down over the slam panel, radiator and top of the rocker cover, then I lie across the engine bay and slide up towards the windscreen to get my hand down the back of the engine and remove the oil filter. I...

Rattling / Grinding noise and low idle

Hi, I've been through these on my 2.0 manual tourer too! Get the mechanic to check each pulley by spinning it and listening to the noise. Or with the belt back in, place a long screw driver near each pulley, most likely one of the bearings. The AC compressor can be the weakest point, then...

    Replacement exhaust system for Tourer

Due to the age and mileage, I think my Tourer is about start blowing anytime soon! The system from the manifold back is in very rusty, the flexi pipe is frayed and not far from falling apart! I'm skeptical about second hand so wanted to know if anyone managed to install a pattern replacement...

Check your intake pipe for fatigue

I had exactly the same issue with my 03 2.0 tourer when I first got it. I ordered a 2nd hand replacement off eBay but that split in two places after a few thousand miles! I ended up using self fusing silicone tape to wrap the tear as a temporary fix, it seems to be doing the trick now! As these...

    Terrible Fuel Economy (Petrol) MPG

Hi, I think that's about right for a 2.0 auto tourer if I'm being honest. I'm averaging 31 mpg over the last 12k miles on a 2.0 manual tourer. And that's driving very gently! I would start by doing a few checks, air intake hoses can split, replace it or repair with self fusing silicone tape...

2.0 manual petrol miles to tank.

I was the same came from an economical diesel hatchback, the trade off of the extra fuel consumption is that the accord is not going to need injectors, dual mass flywheel or a turbo to replace. Diesels nowadays are way too complex and can throw big bills costing more than the saving made in...

2.0 manual petrol miles to tank.

As previously said, 30mpg seems about right for the colder weather. Check your tyre pressures, oil and condition of the air filter. Also one thing to check is if the air intake pipe is split which can contribute towards lower mpg and performance. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

    Noisy idler pulley?

Spin the pulleys when you have the belt off, it might help you find the noisy pulley.

    Noisy idler pulley?

Could be the AC compressor, does the sound change when you cycle the AC on and off? Or if you have a very long screw driver you can place it near the pulleys to identify where the noise is from. My AC compressor sounded very similar to this, the pulley bearing then self destructed not long after!

    Clutch help

Best you can get is a Honda original. I bought the kit for my 2.0 petrol from Holdcrodt Honda. Was cheaper than my local parts shop. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

    sticky brakes

Sticking slider pins are notorious on some Jap cars, I would start there. Check that the rear pads don't have a locator pin on the backing plate. I had uneven wear on my pads due to this. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

True, but there's no fun in just pressing a button! I'm going to try and crack 40 mpg for the heck of it. Sent from my MotoG3 using Tapatalk

Erm, so I've been running without an AC compressor for a few days now and noticed the fuel wasnt being guzzled as it was previously.... The stats speak for themselves!! Exact same driving style, car feels more lively so I've been putting my foot down more than I used to!

Oh sorry, I noticed that you have a 2.2 CDTi, mine is a 2.0 Petrol so the belt will be completely different! What I did to measure mine is to take a bit of string, then route the string around the pulleys, missing the AC comp, to get my measurement.
