Never taken a car to a track day but i would say any weight saved must be a bonus.
I mean Honda changed the gear gaiter on the NSX-R from leather to mesh...just to save 10 grams (as per Top Gear).
I would think every little helps.

Im really surprised that the 2012 Accord Type S doesn't have these 2 features.
Is there an option/switch that i haven't turned on somewhere or Is it just something that Honda never did in 2012?
I also have an FRV although mine is the 2005 2.0 Petrol one (150bhp).
Mpg and road tax are both horrific but the practicality and reliability is second to none.
My family prefer it to my 8th gen Accord.
If you want a later model like 2008/2009 with a petrol engine you will get the 1.8 iVtec...
Actually yes there is: be sure to leave the new buttons alone until step 5.
Step 1: Open the single screw to pop the transponder section off, this has the buttons in it.
Step 2: Then you pop the transponder section open with a coin (there is a notch on 1 corner). Here you will see the battery...
