    Decat?

If you have the facilities to cut and weld a pipe, why didnt you simply cut the internals from the cat and weld it back together? Thus MOT testerman thinks car still has cat fitted so no issue for test.....

    Accord type s 2.4

Abs sensors (warning light comes on occasionally) Penta's are made of cheese so check wheels for buckles. paintwork is quite soft so stone chips will be normal clutch normally lasts over 90k if treated well. Handbrake / rear calipers sometimes stick though can be that the pads need removing and...

Is the 2.4 expensive to run?

My type S is in the for sale ads now - they are brilliant cars. The premium you pay for diesel offsets the extra fuel costs though if you are doing short journeys then a diesel wont be getting warm. I have seen 40mpg on a motorway run of 200 miles, Im no racer but stay around 70-75. Mines got a...

    Pattern wheel speed sensors

I know Im selling the CL9, but thought some of you may benefit from something I found out a few weeks ago. Having replaced the r/h/ rear sensor early last year at a cost of circa £150, I looked into sourcing them elsewhere. Rock Auto in the US sells a direct replacement...

To part exchange or not part exchange that is the question

I was once told all warranty work should be customer led (when I was a service advisor) .If the salesman suggested that you should have the chain done then its all well and good for you but if Honda found out they were doing warranty work without it being the customer booking it in, they would...

    Rear Camber issue

I fitted the adjustable rear arms after the Ebachs went on. I cant remember exactly what I set them to - I think around 1.5 deg neg - nothing drastic! My Yoko's have done about 14k miles, the fronts have worn on the inside and are due for replacing (think there is too much neg on the front but...

    speed sensor - abs/vsa

I just sorted the same issue on my CL9, though its not a diseasle.... all 3 lights on, occasionally go out only to come on again within 10 miles. Without doing a fault code check, I went "old school" and compared resistances across all 4 sensors. IIRC the reading should be around 700mOhms...

    Penny for your thoughts guys

When I bought my Accord I thought it had a wheel bearing gone, the noise was really bad! Before I changed a bearing, I did a front - rear tyre swap. Suddenly the noise went from front to rear..... 1 new set of boots and noise gone. The super-cheap Triangle tyres it came with were to fault, both...

    DIY - ABS Sensor Change

Ok, so the part arrived - looked like the bit I needed. Started to drill the sensor out, which is fairly easy till you wonder where the end is going to go once drilled out! So I came up with this idea... Drill about half the thick part of the sensor out and clean the hole in the hub. Drill a...

    DIY - ABS Sensor Change

Well it had to happen some time I guess..... Dropping my son off at playschool I noticed the row of 3 lights on and thought "this could be expensive" The lights reset after cycling the ignition, but then would illuminate any time between reversing and 5 miles home.... Friend next door has a OBD...

    CAMBR KITS

Try Demon Tweeks, they got a set for me about a year ago. Think they are part of Eibach so any of their dealers ought to be able to source them. I just bought a new pair of front tyres for when the Yokos finally expire. Ive done 13k on them and they are wearing a little more on the inner edge...

    Penta Grey

Why not change the colour if youre doing all 4? Edited to add - I looked for touch-up but no-one lists a colour for wheels, it will always be near but not right. Hence I painted all mine rather than a touch up.

Aircon regass for £29 at kwikfit

If it is sooo simple, then why is there legislation that insists training to do it? I fitted A/C units on PDI for 6 years, yes it is "simply connecting 2 pipes" ...... I cannot believe there are people on here that on one hand pay £££'s for the right engine oil, then save a couple on getting...

Aircon regass for £29 at kwikfit

£29 to let a machine remove gas from your A/C, hold vacuum for 15 minutes, then put £2 more gas back in..... All very well as long as they dont under/ over fill the system. They are ....edit by Monks.... monkeys. Family member mistakenly took their Accord there and they messed up every...

Aircon regass for £29 at kwikfit

Personally I wouldnt trust then to get rid of my old tyres, let alone change them. I enquired about 4 years ago on how much to recharge the system in my B2500. They said they couldnt do anything for 3 weeks as the guy was off on holiday and no-one else knew how to use it. Incompetent fools the...
