From memory, I only had the 5 speed diesel, the first gear was only a crawler gear. I think would effect how quick you can get the car to 60mph.

What's the health of your battery like? Usually car alarms monitor the voltage. If there is a voltage drop it can set the alarm off.

From memory I think the CL7 handling is equally as good, but the ride is a bit more compliant. Then again lots of options on suspension front if you want to improve the handling further.

To be pedantic.... Diesel is mor efficient :-) LPG is less energy dense than petrol IIRC. Just its cheaper and cleaner. I would do the maths on converting to lpg. But see how you go just paying for the extra petrol. If you get extra miles running 99 over 95. If its worth paying the premium over...
