Calling on some more advice.
I'll keep it short.
My new car. An accord ctdi 55reg. has done 160k could it be on the original clutch. now Clutch has slipped a couple of times under hard acceleration in 3Rd and 4th. The bitting point is quite high in the clutch peddle travel so doesn't seem...
Had a rattle on mine, was the chain. Common on these cars. Mine was a bad rattle so got both the timing chain and the oil pump chain dine. Cost £800 all in.
Read the thread I posted. Oil chain is the one that goes from what I'm lead to believe.
Guys really helpful on here.
Thanks for all the advice but I'm going to let garage do this one. Do I need to replace all the guides as a matter of course even if not worn.
I'm going to do the rack though.
It's an old mate doing it who owns his own garage. Says it's a four hour job approx. He used to work with me at the UK's biggest engine recon company so knows engines inside out if that makes sense.
I've managed to get a timing chain kit including oil chain for 280 Inc vat but looks like I'll have to buy the oil chain guides and tensioner from honda for 200 unless anyone knows where else I can get them. Quoted 175 to fit.all in all jot bad I think.
