I did the same with mine.. Certainly found it easier tapping into the side light wiring than running directly from ignition or battery. In terms of looks, it just means these are active along with the stock sidelights which works for me.

You will need to either swap the rails over or get recaro rails for the cl7. They are not a direct fit from the Type R unfortunately. Best bet may be to sell them and get hold genuine cl7 recaros. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
