    Heavy black smoke - overfueling?

Because coding will solve for very minute tolerances that aid smooth running, but not account for the heavy smoking or running issues being described here. The coding represents very tiny microscopic differences in mechanical variations. I’ve been around diesels many years now, this issue is...

    Heavy black smoke - overfueling?

    Recoding injectors won’t solve that.

    Hello from south Scandinavia

Have a look inside the glovebox there is a switch to disable the trunk I believe, that might just be pressed.

    Heavy black smoke - overfueling?

To me this is a classic injector issue. I’ve not read the thread back to back but sounds like you just need 4 known good injectors from a running car.

It’s really down to the tester on the day and which side of bed they woke up on that morning.

    Heavy black smoke - overfueling?

Misfiring will be down to a bad injector mate. Try running a leak back test before removing them all again

    Heavy black smoke - overfueling?

Ah sorry hadn’t realised it was already egr off, I only scan read the thread. It’s worth giving the injectors some time to bed in properly and running some additive through. It’s going to be a fuelling issue now.

    Heavy black smoke - overfueling?

Those results look a lot better. I personally think your egr is slightly stuck open and leaking internally. Would suggest blanking temporarily to see if it cures it and then decide if you want a permanent solution.

Honda accordt type-s 2.2 D-tec black smoke and running bad.

Get the car properly inspected and diagnosed, this is no way to diagnose a fault. Even our advice is based on guesswork at this stage.

Honda accordt type-s 2.2 D-tec black smoke and running bad.

Nope I mean the engine remap. If you’re seeing white smoke and can hear knocking like that, and are confident your injectors are not the issue then in my experience with these engines it’s a poor quality remap.

It runs lean? If it’s smoking then it’s running rich not lean.. can you video the issue and the sound. If it had jumped a tooth it wouldn’t start..

Honda accordt type-s 2.2 D-tec black smoke and running bad.

You may have split a boost hose.. check for leaks. But if it’s knocking then it might be as simple as a leaking injector or worse, internal damage.

Honda accordt type-s 2.2 D-tec black smoke and running bad.

How long has it been remapped and has this started straight after or just randomly? Does the car exhibit any other issues?

Honda accordt type-s 2.2 D-tec black smoke and running bad.

You need to have some diagnostics run but given you’ve got a remap, it’s also possibly a poor software calibration. Otherwise check for boost leaks and leaking egr.

Does my car need a "special tool" just to change the fuel filter? (2008, 2.2L, Honda Accord Ex I-Dtec)

Yes it does. Don’t try any bodge method or you will likely break the housing. You need this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303599024570?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=iHKeqmAfRCe&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=f3nnn2MXTQK&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

    Buying: What to look for?

There are many subtle but important differences between the pre and post facelift cars, and I couldn’t possibly name them all. Fundamentally the facelift cars are overall a more accomplished car which feel and drive tighter, have improved sound absorption, improved engine management and software...
