    how many miles has your car done and is it still under warranty?these could possibly have been replaced under warranty!usually the pads are very tight in the carrier which causes the outer pad to stick on and wear out quicker.

    New Clutch slipping

    they should have advised you to take it easy to bed the clutch in and let the adjuster mechanism settle.its quite common for these to slip for a short time after replacement..also worth checking the adjustment of the cruise control switch bud.

    why would you rather risk buying 2nd hand bud,when you dont know what you would be getting/how long it would last?the new ones as far as i know have modified pressure sensors to prevent a reoccuring failure so surely a 2nd hand one is quite a high risk?

    slow starting in cold weather.

    not sure about the battery.the first post says it took a while to start...does that mean it turned over for a long time before actually firing?(which would surely indicate a healthy battery)...or a long time because the engine was barely turning over(ie very slowly)?

    definately worth checking the glo plugs,especially if the miles are getting on a bit...and if it was really cold where you are,the fuel filter(any water in it will freeze).
