    Potential Bluetooth Fix!

Yeah its good to know these things, and that electronic components or modules (excuse the terminology) can be fixed. They aren't necessarily a sealed unit just fit for the bin when they go wrong. Infact just yesterday I put my soldering iron to its first use and my first attempt at soldering...

Lock jammed and stolen reg. number

I have the saloon so don't know a great deal about the locking mechanisms. I think you might need to strip the rear seats or surrounding bits (bolster) at least to get to the lock. Does this help?

    Potential Bluetooth Fix!

I had read some of that thread before (but as I don't have a 7th Gen I couldn't really do much with the info). The Main Relay is another (£400?) item that seems to suffer with cracked/dry solder joints. Last time I was in Maplin I picked up a soldering station and some solder incase my main...

Valve Clearances - tools, parts and info need

I've not used a generic silicone, just tried to do it with the 'best' one I could but no doubt a generic would be better than none.

    Malfunction indicator light

I don't know the H22 engine but if they were near the brake fluid reservoir or booster (if replacing fluid) maybe they knocked a vacuum line which is causing the engine to lean out at idle. As the throttle plate is effectively closed at idle, a vacuum leak has greater potential to bring...

Is the 7th as reliable as the 6th?

After nine years of ownership and the car now 12yrs old...... I've replaced droplinks & rear calipers (only one had siezed but replaced both). I replaced the Thermostat at last coolant change, no issues just preventative maintenance. Rear fuel and brake lines 2014, timing&balance belt 2009...

Valve Clearances - tools, parts and info need

They might not need adjusted, so even if you are a bit nervous just take the rocker cover off, spin the engine at the crank, practice lining up the cam markers then identify your cylinders. Then practice with the feeler gauges you won't do any damage. Also watch some vids about how to feel...

Valve Clearances - tools, parts and info need

Ok done the Howto http://typeaccord.co.uk/forum/topic/16845-diy-6th-gen-valve-clearance-howto/ Your rocker cover gasket might be ok, I had already bought one on the ***umption to replace it but I wouldn't have worried about reusing my current one, however as I thought I won't be going near...

DIY 6th Gen Valve Clearance Howto

Reassembly. Clean up the mating surface. I had replaced my rocker cover gasket a few months ago. If it looks ok then just reuse it but you still need to apply some liquid gasket on the corners. I took a few minutes to clean up the remnants of the old liquid gasket then reapplied the new...

    Fuel Consumption

I've got the 1.8 and I don't think I get near 40mpgs to be honest. I never accurately record brim to brim or run it down to the dregs of the tank but I think the furthest I went was 420miles (65ltr/4.55 imp = 30mpg) and was very low on the fuel gauge. The fuel light wasn't on so you could...

    Burning smell coming from rear

Forgot to say....that Holdcroft price is a straight purchase, not need to return your existing caliper as per ECP. Therefore you could sell it on as siezed, someone might buy it to rebuild or even strip it yourself and see how they work (that's what I done lol)

    Burning smell coming from rear

Give HoldCroft a call, I got my OEM rear caliper a few years back for about £110 - ok a bit dearer than ECP, buts its an official Honda part. You normally replace brakes per axle, ie all up front or all on the rear. Obviously this is going to add to the expense that you might not be willing to...
