    Gearbox Oil Specs

Yes it is mineral, I stumbled on a spec sheet once, despite which it has a cult-like status and following on the forums. I use Comma MVMTF Plus 75W 80 Fully Synthetic.

    2.4 i (CU2) Fuel Filter Serviceable?

Congrats on the car. The fuel filter is changeable, and Honda say change it every 6 years. It's under the back seat in the estate so yours will either be there or at the back of the boot under the lining if it's a saloon.

    Braking

As described it wouldn't replace the old fluid in the brake lines with new fluid which is the object of the exercise as I understand it.

    20i-Vtec: Automatic Vs Manual

That's the one to go for then. Worth checking the history, especially if it's had regular oil and ATF changes.

    I love my Tourer !

Totally agree - the 8th Gen Tourer performs and handles better but for practicality it doesn't even come close.

WHAT IS THIS? OIL AND COOLANT? :(

If the boot itself isn't split the grease can still come out the end if the seal has gone. I once got away with a new clip but if there's dirt inside the boot or the boot material has perished over the years so it can't seal properly any more then it needs a new boot.

WHAT IS THIS? OIL AND COOLANT? :(

Are you losing a bit of grease out of the CV joint ? If so the boot might need replacing.

    Ball joint nuts

The MIB does recover claims when it can - see page 2 of this leaflet https://www.mib.org.uk/media/335237/2015-uninsured-drivers-agreement-notes-for-guidance-v20.pdf and when personal injury is involved the damages can run into millions A little bit silly to ask for details of specific cases...

That won't help you if you lose your house because your insurers won't accept your claim.

    Ball joint nuts

The problem Tony is that you have misinterpreted what other people say I said nylocks can strip ; the nylock is the inset not the thread in the nut You claimed the article (the evidence you say I could provide) referred to full lining ; it did not You stated car manufacturers use nylocks with...

    Ball joint nuts

You pays your money, you takes your choice.....personally I would never use a nylock nut alone on a lower ball joint....nor do Honda....nor will the OP, wisely in my view.....but hey, each to their own :)

    Ball joint nuts

From where I'm standing you jumped to the wrong conclusion about what 'stripped' meant and went off on one! :D The article is about a nut with "a nylon insert that lines the centre hole of the nut, which allows it to grip or lock onto the threads of the shaft" You might call it something else...

    Knocking from Rear of Tourer

Another way is a 30 second blast of heat on the nut from a Rothenberger plumber's torch, then it'll come straight off nice and easy.
