Personally I hit the side of the arm where the joint goes through with a big hammer until it separates. I use a trolley jack under the bottom of the brake disc to take some weight off the joint first although that's not essential. I think those separators can mangle the rubber boot.

I guess a couple more weeks or so before you change it won't make any difference if it's been in a while already.

It won't stop that - it's low SAPS not no SAPS. It will always build up eventually.

Low SAPS is important if your car has a DPF, if not then it doesn't matter.

Maybe it's just been a very long time since the oil change before the one you did.
