    Same here, I undid my system where the downpipe joins the manifold. The cat bolts were so badly corroded on either side that it needed an angle grinder to get them off.

    The sunroof is the only real known issue I think. If you go diesel you'll probably get DPF issues and possibly others as well. I think those features you refer to were on the autos only or at least they were on the 7th gen.

    Yes there should be a metal shim top and bottom that the pad sits in. If they're missing you can buy a set on ebay for less than £10.

    Possibly although normally when a caliper seizes the piston doesn't retract so the pads stay in contact with the disc all the time causing a hot wheel. It's a weird one - there should be a V-shaped spring pressing on the back of the calipers to stop movement - maybe yours got left off ? If...
