    Catalytic converter theft

Do they bother with i-cdti's? I guess as it's tucked up and behind the engine access is a little more difficult and mines lowered if it makes any difference.

    Air con not working

I don't know about the switches but my AC compressor was engaging but it still needed replacing, Halfords (garages not shops) do an AC diagnostic for about £30.

Brakes overheating. Garage can't fix it - can you help?

I read that hoses can breakdown internally and or possibly collapse which can lead to the brake fluid failing to return causing the caliper not to reopen, is that your understanding?

Brakes overheating. Garage can't fix it - can you help?

Same garage doing the work I take it? That's up to you but goodluck and keep us informed. There was an airbar recall for these, was it ever done? The cost of used petrol tourers is insane atm, saw an 17 year old car (low mileage 2.4 admittedly) going for £6K !!!

    DMF Issue

I guess droplets of oil could get blown back into the bell housing (especially if the cover is missing) like any leaking oil but I would've thought the chances are quite remote however the fact that the juddering was temporary does indicate that it might have happened.

Brakes overheating. Garage can't fix it - can you help?

Imo, one more go with another garage as you've already invested quite alot of time and money. Have or are the rear disks changing colour and do you feel them binding when you roll to a stop? I'd be interested to know if your vehicle would still pass it's MOT if the brakes are still binding...

Brakes overheating. Garage can't fix it - can you help?

Just fishing but is there a distribution/proportioning valve that could've been faulty? That could account for the rear(s) locking but not if the calipers are disconnected, that would indicate some mechanical fouling.

    Touring Estate Tailgate Control Module

The tailgate handle is hidden and centrally mounted just above the registration plate, there is also a button switch on the underside of the bootail lip that allows you to close the tail automatically without the use the key fob.

    CV boot replacement

Thanks Sayama. Doh, mistakingly bought inners instead of outers so wasted time before I realised that, quality outers are still three times the price of inners the buggers so went for a generic CV boot in the end . I remember now refreshed by YouTube I just knocked the outer driveshaft off...

    Touring Estate Tailgate Control Module

This will be difficult to do remotely for someone else but absolutely the first thing to do (if you also search for site) is make sure none of the loom wires are broken AND that the outside boot handle hasn't got stuck in the open position. The later happened to me and as simple as it seems it...

    Service Manual Woes

I've been an idiot, kept trying to do a general search for front CV/constant velocity boot replacement/renewel as per my other post which wasn't bringing up anything because there isn't anything on it !!! Other than that it works fine on Win 10 but I did have to dial down the security...

    Touring Estate Tailgate Control Module

It's under the roof liner at the rear where the tail gate loom enters but as Gray said there are a few other possible faults to dismiss before digging that out.

    CV boot replacement

I did this two or three years ago or so but can't remember, do folks use those installation cones to save having to pull things apart? Honda want sixty quid a side. LoL.

    Service Manual Woes

Evening, it's been a while. Anybody know what else is required to get the IE service manual up and running? I did a fresh install but all I get is "There is no shop manual to apply" when doing a search. I can't remember but aren't there some Actvie X settings that to be enabled or not? Any...

    Facelift vs Pre-Facelift

6 speed, not that I use mine much. Apparently improved trip computer, handy. I think they modified the timing chain guides/tensioner to decrease rattleability.

Front or rear subframes if usual jacking areas are a bit crispy.

    Mk7 vs Mk8 Tourer

Agree with Bounder, different rear suspension on Mk 7 also leads to smaller luggage capacity. 626 litres v 406 litres for Mk8 makes it around third smaller than Mk7, you get the idea and it put me off the Mk8 tourer too.
