    Valve clearances?

Glad you’ve gone with Dan and Matt at Honda HQ; they are fantastic and I was gonna recommend them. Good prices and excellent work. They’re also well happy to chat and have no problem with you supplying the parts. Amayama are great, just remember that any orders over £135 (that’s parts +...

    Valve clearances?

Valve clearances are the same: Intake: 0.21−0.25 mm (0.008−0.010 in.) Exhaust: 0.25−0.29 mm (0.010−0.011 in.) Just to note the maintenance schedule on the ESM states "Inspect valve clearance" "Every 100,000 km (62,500 miles)". Inspect could just be "Does it sound tappity? No? Done." I...

My new JDM Gen 8 Accord CW2 2.4 Type S and specifically how to upgrade the head unit.

Over time the bushes in the rear arms will wear and the arms themselves can bend very slightly, causing the wheels to sag inwards, producing negative camber and then inner rear tyre wear. Much more likely / will happen much sooner if your car is significantly lowered. The OE arms are not...

Which issue do I fix first?

£907 from Honda or probably somewhere between 5-700 from an independent specialist. The parts themselves aren’t that expensive but I believe it’s fairly labour intensive on the 8th gen as I think the subframe has to be dropped.

Which issue do I fix first?

Good to hear it’s on the mend. I’d get the offside lower ball joint replaced as well for piece of mind. Regarding the clutch squeak, if you can pinpoint where abouts it’s coming from that would be a great help. For example if it’s from the back of the engine bay/behind the clutch pedal, you may...

Is a front bumper bar for Estate and Saloon the same part?

Yes same part for both saloon and the tourer. Shipping seems a bit on the expensive side…. Put your VIN into here and select your car, then navigate to upholstery. You’ll find the beam in the front bumper page with part number 71130TL0G01ZZ.

    Oil Change - Exol

This popped up on my notifications so thought I’d update on the Exol 0W-20 I use. I’ve done 24,000 miles and 4 oil changes on the stuff and it’s been brilliant. The engine runs really well with great cold starts every time. I’ve just taken delivery of my second 20L tub.

    Steering Wheel Judder

As @Trawa said if it’s through the floor/your butt and only happens when accelerating at higher speeds, then almost certainly it is the driveshafts. Usually it’s just the inner CV joints that need changing; I had the left side rebuilt in June and it sorted it for me. I had mine done by Dan and...

    Steering Wheel Judder

Second vote for wheel balancing. Can you feel it through the steering wheel only?

    Side skirts on an EX

Here’s a link to a guide on acurazine that I have bookmarked. I plan on doing something similar myself at some point but just haven’t gotten round to it.

Master window switch - part numbers compatibility

Sometimes they can be revisions, or indicate a left from right side part, and sometimes who knows. Hondas numbering system can occasionally be weird. However, I’m pretty sure that in this case E21 indicates the right hand drive part, whereas G21 is for left hand drive. E.g. my car is a 2008 EX...

Master window switch - part numbers compatibility

Hey if I’m understanding correctly, you just need the drivers side window switches, yeah? You can get the part from Japan. No. 6 on this diagram and highlighted green. It’s expensive and you may have to pay import duty and VAT too. I’ve bought stuff from Amayama multiple times and they’ve been...

Oil leaking! From up top at the back any ideas

Use an image hosting site such as imgur. Right Click the image on the hosting site once uploaded, choose copy link address, then when you click the insert image icon on this forum select the link option within and paste the image address. The leak may be something simple like the gasket between...

How do I access the TMC Diagnostic Page

Ha fair enough. The ESM has the below to say about soft and hard faults: Probably best you didn't have a go at clearing them then! Weirdly mine has no errors at all, but does show TMC providers as 1 on startup, then goes to 0 about 1 min later. There's a section in the ESM about how to...

What have you done to your Accord lately?

As well as the above some things I've done since the new year are Osram LED dipped and high beams, replaced blue screenwash cap with black jdm style, replaced driver's side driveshaft with new Honda shaft ***embly, replaced parking sensor switch LED, replaced driver's door glass outer...

What have you done to your Accord lately?

Mate I know the pain. I was getting knocking front left a couple of months ago, so I got the car up in the air and discovered the left tie rod end had lots of play and the boot was leaking. Replaced both sides (Meyle) the following weekend and the noise was still there. In my haste I hadn’t...

How do I access the TMC Diagnostic Page

There’s some stuff you can access through the secret menu on the sat nav. Hold cancel + map/guide + menu. That brings up secrecy menu no.1, then hold menu again for secret menu no.2 Imgur link here to some pics of the TMC stuff in my car, you can see TMC is erroring for me. My traffic stuff...

    Coolant

For £10 more I’d stick with Honda and have the piece of mind that it’s the right stuff, that’ll last until the next change interval. Personally I don’t believe Halfords will do the due diligence to make sure it satisfies all the requirements.

    Door lock question

This video is for a 2012 TSX, so maybe it’s for USDM spec cars or facelift only. The options for door lock etc don’t show up in the meter settings on my pre-facelift mk8, and holding down the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously does nothing.
