    Idle when warm

Was a nice night so decided to get the bonnet up and have a poke about. Found that the screw clamp that holds the big black air pipe onto the throttle body was completely loose to the point I could spin it around. Gave it some wd40 and a good tighten up. Seems to improved the idle problem so...

    Idle when warm

Thanks guys. I think the IACV is a good shout, as there seems to be no other issue when driving etc. It's purely at idle. Looks like it's a big fiddly to get in at the IACV. Might get me local wee garage to sort it out.

    Idle when warm

2004 i-VTEC sport 2.0 Petrol When the car is warm, and say sitting in traffic or at a junction. The revs seem to drop from normal, to around 500-600rpm as if something is laboring the engine. If i move the steering wheel or turn on the aircon (or anything power hungry) the engine revs back up...

Very Heavy Steering / Pump Noise When Cold

Yeah that's what they said. Just glad it's not the steering rack.

Very Heavy Steering / Pump Noise When Cold

Filled it up a couple of weeks ago, was empty again yesterday. Took it to the garage, it's a faulty power steering cooling pipe. Part is ordered from honda and it's about £320 supplied and fitted. They said it's a bit of a job to replace it.

Very Heavy Steering / Pump Noise When Cold

Just checked it with my iphone light, practically no power steering fluid left. That'll do it! Manual says it needs to be honda power power steering fluid (V, II or S) good so nothing i can get at the local auto shop in the morning. Grrrrrr. Thanks crespo appreciate it. Should really have...

Very Heavy Steering / Pump Noise When Cold

Last 2 occasions that my car has been sitting overnight, or during the work day in the car park. I've notice when trying to get out of a parking space that my power steering is extremely heavy, almost unsteerable. This is accompanied by a not to great sounding Power Steering Pump whine. I...

    Poor MPG

Something not right there. I get more than that out of my 2.0 I-vtec on 10mile round trips to work in the city. Got over 420miles out a single tank of petrol recently in the warm weather.

    Baby Car Seat Recommendations

We've had a Graco tri logic car seat on the middle seat in the back of our saloon which did us great all the way up to booster seat which jack is now using. The fact he fell asleep in it just about every time we went out in the car said to us he was comfy. It reclined too which was great for...

    Tar removal

Wee search on google and wd40 was highly recommended over those tar remover products. Just happened to have some too. Tried it and it worked a treat. Washed the side down applied it a couple of time to a small area at a time and worked on it with a cloth. Took about 30 mins to remove all tar...

    Xcarlink installation error

I just fitted my xcarlink this morning, i don't have nav so have the big cubby hole. It takes a hell of a lot of pulling to get that puppy out, more force than i was comfortable putting on a bit of plastic to be honest. It went back in no probs though!

    Options for calipers?

Know the feeling :) I'm out almost £800 on mine this month lol.

    Options for calipers?

If they're charging you £250 for discs only, it's wrong, if it's discs and pads it's right.

    Options for calipers?

WOW that expensive... it's usually £250 for back discs and pads. £400 is about normal for the honda dealer to do a caliper. I just had a rear caliper replaced at the Honda Dealer in Glasgow who did it for £170 part supplied, they said to me Honda UK had some in stock they were selling to the...

    Sudden increase in fuel consumption

I've also noticed a dramatic improvement since having my rear seized calipers replaced. Much improved, also managed to get the honda dealer to replace the caliper for £170 with a genuine part (there was a bit of a discount because they changed the discs and shoes 2 days before and didn't notice...

    Uncomfortable seats

It is indeed. A friend had one i think we clocked mach 3 on it in the highlands a few years back. Fastest round trip to the "green welly stop" for beer and firewood ever made.
