    Strange engine behaviour after stalling

Thanks for the suggestions. I thought Limp Mode in the Diesel Accord still allows up to 2000 rpm? Are there different limp modes? The 3 starts thing does make sense though. I will try that if it ever happens again. It's not winter where I am though... Yes the car is stored outside, but...

    Strange engine behaviour after stalling

We've all occasionally stalled the engine, right? I did today, after a 1 hour drive, ending in stop-start urban traffic, I think I misjudged the revs pulling out from a parking space, onto the road, on a slight uphill. The car went cloink and I quickly restarted it before the people in my...

Both you and Chesjak are looking for the same solution, to only slightly different problems.

    Fuel pressure test valve location

I don't normally pay much attention to the Gen 8 threads, but are you hoping to measure the injection pressure on an N22B? Before or after the injection pump?

    Full Beam stays on

I've searched far and wide, but I think that you are the first to share images of the inside. Identifying the faulty relay is possible a couple of ways, eg. plugging it in and feeling for the click holding a small insulated screwdriver against the body of a relay, or using a thermal camera to...

    Full Beam stays on

If a previous owner has run bulbs that drew much more current than the prescribed 55W bulbs, there could have been arcing in the relay gap. I'd say that Honda would have some sort of spark mitigation to minimise EM emissions, but eg 120W bulbs could have overpowered that. Water ingress or an...

    Temporary alarm fix

Yes I think you're right. NiMH charging is the same as NiCD ISTR, and chargers for those didn't seem to mind what capacity battery you attached. A 4x capacity pack is 10x cheaper, as the original BVH cells seem to have very high capacity per volume. I'll just have to mount the battery...

    Full Beam stays on

Sorry I dropped the ball on this. Rather a lot going on with the family, and our equivalent of MOT for my own car on top of that. I'd be dremelling the top shell off the Relay Control Module at this stage as you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. You can sikaflex it back into...

    Rear fog light indicator

Do you have the stock activation for the rear fog light in place? On the gen7 the rear fog light is switched on and off by a momentary switch one click (fraction of a rotation) further than the front fog lights, of the secondary ring on the light and indicator stalk/ But it does not work...

    Temporary alarm fix

The alarm backup battery finally died. Got the alarm out by removing the subwoofer, taking a flash photo of the installation, and unbolting the Cobra unit from there. No need to remove all the panels like a lot of people say on here. I thought about replacing just the 6 250BVH Ni-MH cells...

Power Steering Reservior & Hoses (i-CTDI)

The hydraulic maintenance industry is well established. If you have the two end bits, you can always have the hose and crimped ends replaced. A decent hose doctor will be able to come up with a solution even if the end parts are damaged, as these fittings aren't specific to the Accord or even...

    Power tailgate problem

I've had broken wires that weren't visible on the outside. The stretch had over time snapped the copper filaments inside but the insulation was intact. This wasn't on an Accord so IDK if the rear door harness wires are prone to this. You can get fairly cheap puncture type probes (example)...

    Highest Mileage

Do it yourself. It's just filters and oil you need to keep going. After the car gets to a certain age and resale value / potential life left you don't really need to adhere to the factory maintenance schedule. Fix things as they break or wear out, and drive the car a bit more gently.

    P2008 & P2004 on facelift 2.2 i-CTDi engine.

If the solenoid is an on-off and nothing in between thing, perhaps putting in a relay with a proper (fused) 12V feed would help.

    Full Beam stays on

I would much rather have found a simple, replaceable set of relays. I hope u/chesjak at least finds some simple through-hole board mounted relays. That, we can fix. The more I think about it though, the more likely it is that at least for concurrent generations, these relay control modules...

    Was this a good buy?

Can you check fault codes? If it's not a broken sensor, the main thing to check is fuel delivery. I'm looking for an intact right side Tourer tail light btw.

    Another service manual

Don't know if this has been posted before. I found this white trying to find information about the Relay Control Module, in another thread. US 2004 TSX workshop manual. PDF. It's nothing like the Gen7 WSM we generally refer to. It seems to have more electrical test procedures, but I have...

    Full Beam stays on

From the few examples that can be found online, it looks like the box unplugs with a single multi-connector. I ***ume it is some sort of clamshell body that can be probably be pried apart. From what I gather, the relay control Module controls a lot of stuff.. I can describe what to look for...

    Full Beam stays on

It's actually not that simple. The headlight relays are buried inside the Relay Control Module, which is that unmarked sealed box to the right of the engine bay fuse box. Honda treats this as an non-serviceable part, and it looks like it is built into the fuse box itself, but apparently can...
