Ideally, it needs starting up, driving around the block till you get some reasonable warmth on the engine. Secondly put it in gear and avoid using the handbrake. Thirdly disconnect the battery if you can't do the first bit but yeah it does need starting up.

Many old Hondas suffer from rust, talking from experience here, but I guess it depends on the individual and how much time and money that they want to put in,but as said don't think DC5's will have no rust.

Things that get often said.

A DC5 may have identical issues, will you be throwing that away after? Not giving you a hard time mate but I just see too many people these days give up on something thats not a big deal.

Btw I know a few people who have had rust with DC5's so don't think its immune from it, Its up to you but the ATR is a much better car in every way.

I would also repair it, £400-£500 is not much on a car that fetches 2.5k-3k and its still a rewarding car to own and drive, I think you will be dissapointed with a DC5 after owning an ATR, If you don't want to repair it, sell and let someone else repair and enjoy the car. Just my opinion.

Ahh right, thought so but never heard any other stories about them apart from the Type-R models, My Type-R had it so was just asking, considering a Sport as a cheap daily so just wondered if I would have to give attention to that area again lol.
