Take the expansion tank off, makes it so much easier to get the manifold off. Start to finish was about 40 mins max.

If you've had the battery off or installed a map update you might need to clear the cache which is somewhere in the diagnostic screens.

I've changed the laser on mine, it is relatively easy but not suitable for a novice with a soldering iron. You can get a complete replacement mechanism that includes the laser on ebay for £100 or so quid. Replacing that is literally unplugging a ribbon.

I'd just change it, easy to do, took about 30 mins in total on my 2.4.

Downloaded the old software and that's fine so software it is.

I have the auto and it's fine, no doubt the manual will be quicker and easier to make use of the vtec zone but nice smooth changes and seems to be sensible in it's choice of gears. You can always slip it across and use the 'manual' which will let you hold on to the revs, I don't use it much but...

Mechanically the petrols if looked after are pretty much bomb proof. The rear arches are prone to rust so look on the inside of the arch. Rear calipers can seize but usually its just a proper clean that's needed. The alpine audio/sat nav system can have issues so make sure thats working...

Not watched the vid but it's pink going in! The stuff that came out was a dark pink as said above. For the price Holdcroft so ATF for and considering how easy it is too do it's a no-brainer for me!

If it's pink in the vid then that's the stuff. It's got the consistency of water which is a bit strange.

I have the Alpine Premium Sound but the the DVD wont go past the 'please do not turn off your engine' screen. I've changed the laser for a new one, I've tried every key combo I can think of, disconnected the battery numerous times, no luck. I've just bought another DVD player that the owner...

Does this unit work with the dashtop display we have on the exec model?

Are the speakers in the doors on the EX full range or bass/mid? Just wondering if the front pair cross over to the tweeters in the dash too?

Have you tried Holdcroft? If not give them a ring and tell them you're from this forum. They consistently beat other Honda garage prices by a mile for me.
